Lol Yelich. Does he want to drive in runs anymore??

That reaction and the first at bat especially makes you think he's not seeing the ball well.

He did double earlier but when guys are on base he suddenly can't see?? I don't know man. The guy has to have some hunger for those steaks.

That hit the bat
"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Just catching up on tonight’s game. Would it be fair to say the Brewers have missed some opportunities for this game to be a larger deficit?
Not just “at Night” anymore.

They had a chance to blow the game open in the 4th but left the bases loaded. Loaded with 1 out and Yelich was called out on strikes.

Yup. As someone's said, Wainwright has made pitches when he's needed to.

And Escobar grounded out to end the inning.

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Not this time Votto. Cubs out of their own bases loaded jam.

Also had a runner thrown out at the plate and left the bases loaded in the first.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Well idk, he struck out looking on a pitch right down the middle in first ab and then looked surprised that he struck out on a pitch over the plate in his second ab. It's not like Wain is trying to or really able to strike a lot of guys out.

I mean, he does have 137 punchouts this year in 148 innings. He's no Jacob Degrom, but he's striking guys out.

The second K was a painted corner by Wainwright. Sure, it crossed the plate but it was a good pitch. Yelich probably looking curve but needed to at least four it off. Too many people analyzing every Yelich thing right now. That’s for sure.

If you keep the ball in the park and make timely pitches, you can do well on the mound.

That is what Wainwright is doing. Walking guys only when he has to be careful, giving up a lot of early in the count singles and doubles. Bearing down when he needs to.

3 outs only remain for the Reds.

I wonder who the Cubs “closer” is currently? I’m not sure if they’ve had a save situation since they traded Kimbrel.

Yeah it's going to be interesting....towards the bottom of the Reds order next inning though

I swear we need Rock to retire for us to have another no-hitter. He probably has some voodoo type stuff he does up in the booth anytime we get close.

Ugh. I don't know how no-hitters are constantly happening around us and yet we just can't get one with this pitching staff. It feels so inevitable so many times, yet it just never happens.
