Bury them tomorrow. With 9 more against them they won't be dead yet, but let's make them crawl out of the grave to catch us.

Great win. Comeback. Bullpen carries the load after Peralta leaves early. Capitalized on the Cardinals errors to overcome a mental error in the 10th and a poor strike zone. Continues the excellent road win-loss record. Great win.

Hope the Peralta injury is minor.

Injury to Freddy not on swing

Also says he can make his next start, though he probably will (and should) not.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Saw the Freddy quotes from McCalvy and Hardricourt.

Guessing IL stint for sure (why not?), but early returns are...good news. Seems like precautionary. Inflammation but something he's been dealing with. I'd let him skip a turn or two.

Hope the team is careful, but it is good to hear Freddy express confidence re: his next start.

Good grief, no. Get Ashby on a plane if he isn’t already. Live today, fight tomorrow, Freddy.

Best possible news I think

Craig Counsell on Peralta: "His shoulder just wasn't perfect today. He's not concerned. Our trainers are optimistic as well." Clearly, though, Counsell added, they'll be cautious with it and give it some time. Said it wasn't something serious.

Mature decision to come out. Good call on Peralta’s part. Rest him up now and get him right for the postseason.

Glad I was apparently very wrong about my assumption.

Have to say, watching the scant division hopes of the Reds and Cardinals get slowly crushed this week has been nice. I bet being a Reds fan over the last month has been excruciatingly frustrating as they weren't able to gain any ground even while scorching hot, and are getting buried now that they've cooled off considerably.

This game felt like the exact opposite of how so many previous Brewers-Cardinals games have turned out.

And yet…it’s starting to become the norm in the Counsell era.
