Would not be shocked to see St Louis in the wild card game.

It wouldn’t be shocking. They do have a 7 game home stand coming up with 4 against the Dodgers and 3 with the Reds. Those games will have a significant bearing on the playoff races.

Yeah, Cards will be in it...but what a tough schedule. Now, if the Crew is playing for nothing, that will help STL.

You pretty much have it.

Rowdy has been fine I think. He's still relatively young, cheap and has some upside. His solid defense at 1B has been a pleasant surprise.

He's not Anthony Rizzo. Those guys are not easy to find.

Question is, do we go into 2022 with Rowdy as our 1B, or do we go big and sign someone else that we know is our guy?

It's a tough situation really. Rowdy shows us just enough at times to think we are covered at 1B, but is he our answer?

I think if you have the chance for a clear upgrade, you go for it. Then perhaps Tellez is part of a trade package for someone like Trey Mancini. IOt would need to be an established guy that is going to be a more sure bet to hit .250+ with 30 HRs, because that is probably close to what Tellez's upside is.

I'd say replacing Garcia in right will be the bigger issue.

I am praying we don't just count on JBJ out there next year. No Garcia is going to weaken our OF for certain.

Yelich, Old Man Cain, worthless JBJ and Taylor...

It really comes down to finding production somewhere. You likely need RBIs from either of the corner outfield spots or 1B.

Agreed. I don't expect Garcia to find a huge market, though, despite his strong season. It wouldn't surprise me to see him re-upped for another couple years at around $10-$12 million per season.

Or if the Brewers have to field lineups like the one they’re facing today.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

The Brewers were down 5-1 to the Cardinals in the seventh inning of Game 4 of the 1982 World Series in Milwaukee and scored 6 runs in the bottom of the inning. Will history repeat itself?

Is Lester really going to beat burnes and woodruff in back to back starts against us

Cripes

That's baseball. Sometimes things don't go your say despite the matchup and all the numbers indicating they should. Remember, too, that the Cardinals have substantially more to play for, as they still have ground to make up to get into Wild Card contention. Not that the Brewers are laying down, but it shouldn't be surprising, either, that yet another junk-throwing lefty shut the offense down. Not having Adames and Garcia against a lefty is a rough deal.

Well he’s a lefty who’s sucked this year so yeah, not really a surprise.

5-5 in the last 10 games. What’s surprising is the 3 wins came against the Giants. One series they look like champs and the next they look like a < 0.500 team. Will they look like Jekyl or Hyde against the Phillies?

It’s crazy how much better on the road then at home we are

This team has played well against the other teams above .500 all season.

If they do, JBJ will be there to deliver the winning hit.

At least they give some hope to the Cardinals and Reds.

Hope for what? A Wild Card spot?

A 10 game lead with 24 to play is very comfortable.

Those teams are playing for the Wild Card and nothing more.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

Yep, you’re right they should just give up.

LOL what?

I mean, playing for the Wild Card would be the literal opposite of giving up. But that 2nd Wild Card spot is both the Reds and Cardinals only legit shot at the playoffs at that point.

But what real chance do they have against the Dodgers or the Giants?
