Jeez. Now we are opening up the door again for the Reds and Cardinals.

Dude, come on.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

"This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Let’s hope our aces can flip the switch in October.

To what? Super duper double secret Cy Young candidates?

Actually woodruff has been a little better than I thought since all star break. Around a 3 era. Today will raise it some.

Peralta. I’m worried about

This team has a serious chance to win the whole damn thing. I’m predicating on the big three being dominant. Maybe we can win it all if they are just good

If you need a reason to stay optimistic today, the Phillies bullpen has a 4.47 ERA this season. The only worse bullpens among NL teams have been the Pirates (4.63 ERA), Nationals (4.87 ERA), Rockies (5.07 ERA), Reds (5.19 ERA), and D-backs (5.30 ERA).
Not just “at Night” anymore.

Wheeler doesn't leave many over the plate.

Consistently on the edges.

He may have had a rough stretch coming in but he has been very, very good today.

I hope the Phillies don’t win the East. Wheeler and company have the Brewers number.
Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I was hoping reds might give us another day to drop magic number

But it looks like the Cubs are about to be the Cubs

Hopefully they can work him enough to get him out after 6.

So enjoy the ride instead of posting about every little thing it's the final nail in the coffin of the season.

One more inning for Woo.

Thinking they might pull him considering the big division lead but nice job not letting the homers eat him up and having a melt down. Another day this might be a win.

I like it better when the Brewers win every game and their Aces pitch Lights Out. I think we need to call up sudden Phenom Darrien Miller to right this ship!

Wheeler has thrown over 110 pitches in games several times this year. With as little stress as he’s faced so far I think he’ll get into at least the 8th unless the Brewers can put some runners in scoring position.

Wheeler was that classic former Mets starter the Brewers were on the verge of trading for almost every month when Melvin was the GM. That whole trade scenario scene was quite the thing and quite contentious, I recall, in and amongst the fan community. He's having quite the season.

I'm surprised they took Wheeler out

With a 4-0 lead, I think it's the right call.

You should be able to hold that for nine outs.

I am with you in the sense that Woody going further than Wheeler isn't something that seems possible given the totally different trajectories of these innings.
