I don't remember a best receiver in football being traded ever. They needed to get at least another high draft pick, probably another first rounder. I sure hope they got something more than two draft picks. Otherwise I think we got fleeced.

DeAndre Hopkins was literally traded last season. I'm unsure what you mean here.

Best is subjective, but Moss and D. Hopkins both returned less. Houston didn't even get a single 1st for Nuk.

That's because Bill O' Brian is a moron.

True. I just think, respectfully, your expectations might be a little unrealistic if you thought Davante would return more. Age and cost matters, too. I would expect Jefferson or Chase to be worth considerably more than Adams in a deal.

Packers rumored to be trying to get Kenny Golladay from the Giants.

Ok, yes please... Acquire Kenny and sign Jarvis, that would be a good start.

Then draft a WR at 22... Gollday, Landry, Lazard and draft pick... I like that already!

Well you can feel what you want about Bill O'Brien, i won't argue there. What I'm trying to say is the value received there is far less than what we received (a 2nd and a 4th and David Johnson with a 4th also going back to Arizona) and there are many in the League who feel Hopkins is as good or better. Beyond that, I am saying the value received seems very fair to me considering his age and the size of the contract. But, it's just my opinion.

Cooper Kupp was traded?

Thank God. I had mild anxiety about the Packers appeasing Rodgers by signing Adams to some insane contract and it looks like they were about to do it. It's a hard pass for me on a 30 year old WR.

A bit disappointed he turned out to be a total turkey with the whole dramatic "insulted by negotiations" stuff. But whatever. I'm happy with the return and just relieved to get rid of that kind of albatross contract.

Sounds like Rasul Douglas will be coming back now that money has been freed up.

So two picks, plus Rasul & whoever else we can acquire with however much of that freed up money is left, in exchange for a guy that didn’t want to be here anymore anyway?

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

I think we all love Davante and he’ll do well with the Raiders if the team and its perpetual Raiders drama doesn’t drag him down. But it’s hard not to think this is a contract they’ll be looking to shed after year 3.

Will miss the onfield chemistry Rodgers and Adams had, no doubt....however at times I think it got leaned on too heavily and took away from other aspects/options of the offense.  I also won't miss paying a mid 30's receiver almost $30M a season on top of paying a 40ish yr old QB over $45M a season a couple years from now had they signed Adams to this type of contract.

WRs like Landry, Golladay, JuJu, even Julio Jones interest me, plus using one of those top 60 draft picks on another WR seems like a good bet.  Honestly wouldn't mind kicking the tires on resigning MVS for system familiarity, too.

I really don't want any part of MVS. Too much buck for not enough bang especially for a player who has a hard time staying healthy.

Landry or Julio would be fine.  Juju would be better.

I guess my thought would be that MVS shouldn't cost too much exactly because of his injury history - however if there is a team willing to give him a longterm deal then I'd agree he isn't worth the expense compared to plugging the WR spots with other veterans on more modest deals and drafting that position early in this season's draft.

Whelp, didn't see this one coming. But I understand it. If Adams doesn't want to be here - getting a 1st and a 2nd is a solid return. The deal is done. Let's make the best of the opportunity.

Sounds like the deal is a 1st and 2nd- 22 and 53.

And, technically, $20 million of cap room.

Fun fact - Davante Adams was the #53 overall pick in the 2014 draft.

It is WAY easier to justify paying what they paid Rodgers than paying Adams.

I've seen this movie before and the Raiders are usually the star. Have fun when Adams has 500 yards in 2 years and they're blowing up another 6-11 team.

Assuming their contract demands aren't crazy, I'd like Landry and Juju or one of those and throw a flier on Julio Jones or Austin Hooper.

I'm seeing couple reports on Twitter that we're acquiring Golladay.

I'm seeing lots of speculation at the moment. I'm sure the Packers are indeed looking at veteran options, however, and Golladay is most likely one of these given his history of high-level play across the NFC North venues.

Golladay was absolutely awful last season. He can't stay healthy, and he can't separate.

Only silver lining if we acquired him is that I'm sure we gave up nothing because the Giants would just be happy to unload his contract.

And on top of that is due $17.5M & $18M in salary and roster bonuses the next two seasons.

The only way I see the Packers acquiring Golladay is if the Giants cut him.

I don't anticipate the Packers doing anything fun at WR. I would guess someone like Golladay, a couple draft picks, and crossing fingers that Amari isn't a joke. If they're gonna pay Rodgers a bunch of money and keep a competitive team on the field some concessions have to be made. WR seems logical given that the QB is supposed to be all world.
