He should embrace it, and quit automatically inserting McCutchen into the lineup against righties. Then, we might actually have something going at the DH spot. Of course, I say this, and McCutchen will probably hit a lead-off home run tonight....

Posted this in the minor league thread, but figure it might be worth a discussion here, too. Could be time to call up Turang soon, particularly if Peterson continues his struggles at the plate to start the season. He's getting to the point where he's had more than enough AAA at-bats and could prove to be a valuable left-handed hitting utility piece for this team with his ability to play CF, as well, if they think Cain has completely lost it at the plate. Unless, of course, they want to use him as bait for an even bigger fish. Bottom line is we have some real options to improve this offense going forward...

I really dislike ESPN and the only thing I watched for were broadcasts, and even these are getting to be unwatchable.

I just saw that on the schedule... why do we have a single home game series against the Giants? Weirdness of the squished schedule this year?  Ouch no matter why...
