These AB’s on a basic slider and low velocity, straight as a string fastball are nauseating.

After a few games of hitting the ball well, the Brewers are back to that puzzling place where they look overmatched by a mediocre left-hander

Why can’t they consistently hit the ball against lefties?

We have some strong RH hitters

What am I missing?

Today’s game is another in a long list of unwatchable offensive performances (so far)

Steele has pretty much owned the Brewers so far. They need a couple of HR's to get back in the game.

Brewers might make the playoffs, but no way on God's green Earth will they get to the World Series. Their decision making lately has been quite questionable.

If the Brewers have had a hard hit ball in this game I don’t remember it.

Staring in the face of their second straight shutout loss to the Cubs at AFF.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Brewers and St Louis for that matter are both extremely lucky to play in this division because neither team finishes higher than 3rd in the other two divisions.

When McCutchen and Brosseau are hitting 3rd and 4th you get results like we've seen so far today.

Do you even know Brosseau's stats against lefties?? He's been Paul Goldschmidt against lefties this year. And McCutchen has been probably our hottest hitter lately.

We are extremely fortunate to have such great hitters.

Against lefties, they are great hitters, despite what you may think. Steele's pitched a good game. We've missed a few chances.

Quick game so far. Offense indeed looks overmatched.

The Cubs pen is both bad and worked hard, so Gustave needs to keep this close. It would help if strikes were called strikes. Ump has had an awful and inconsistent zone all day.

We aren't that great against lefties...

Caratini is probably the better defensive option at any of those positions, and will allow him to save his legs a little for the remaining of the series, plus a tryout for Severino at catcher.

we don't need tryouts
