We laud Woodruff for being an ace, a #1 on any other team, then criticize the manager for sending him out to start the 7th inning with 89 pitches against an atrocious offense.

Two things can be true. He did just come off the IL after being out for a month, did he not? He was clearly starting to tire in the 6th already....

I’m not mad about that.   I more ticked that he let him go those three batters without getting an out

that was terrible freaking managing.   Terrible

Three hits on three consecutive pitches. That was an ambush job on Woodruff that didn’t give signs of him being in trouble. Maybe you anticipate difficulties getting 7 innings out of a starter, but not usually that quick.

Didn't he throw exactly 3 pitches?

First and third with no outs.  Strike out, grounder to first that results in an out at home, and then a strike out.  Sounds about right for the Brewers...

Was there no one up in the pen.   What does that matter?    When the first two guys got on that should have been it

Counsell is repsonsible along with our inept offense if we lose this one. Woodruff was clearly laboring in the 6th and needed to be taken out and well the offense is just garbage.

Thank god for the first two months of the season.   Or this would be one heck of a dog fight between all the teams in the central

Every game counts ... we are the best in the NL Central!

No looking back!

Time for this offense to get up and crack!

The schedule is going to flip soon and the cardinals will be playing the bottom feeders while we play good teams. I am pretty certain that they have a big advantage with the schedules the rest of the way. We needed to pad our record at home this week and thats clearly not happening.

CC is a deep thinker ... not too quick on his feet.

Come on, Murph!

Help CC out or get off the turf!

Funny how much praise McCutchen receives despite being a terrible cleanup hitter while Hiura gets trashed constantly despite being our best hitter this season.

CC has gone from not giving the starters any rope in previous seasons to now waiting too long to take them out.

That McCutchen AB was right up there with the worst of the season

Cardinals are nonsense too

but someone might go in a roll.  I thought we might but it’s just bad baseball
