Glad to be done with this series I don’t want to see Miranda hitting against the Brewers anymore.  Reminds me of a better Morneau.

I've accepted that decent OBP/no power Yelich hitting leadoff is what the Brewers have going forward.  These little teases and "maybe he'll get back to being as good as he was with the Marlins" teases are just giving glimpses of hope where none exists.

If he goes on a 2-3-4 month tear where he hits 10 - 12 homers and a bunch of doubles, I'll reconsider, but until then, I've 100% accepted that what we have is what we have, and I'm not going to be disappointed or hope we can trade him or any of that.

Agreed. But what good is fandom without a little hope...I'll certainly take leadoff Yelich, even though it's short of what we're paying for.

Yelich is a sunk cost at this point.  It might not be what the team thought they were paying for, but he costs what he costs whether he doesn't play a game, or if he hits .320 with 30 homers.  If he can hit leadoff and OBP .350 and steal some bases, that's *something*, and it's more than he was doing last year.

Yeah. I don't think there's any doubt he's giving us more than last year right now.

Actually the difference in offensive environment this year accounts for a lot of the difference in his OPS this year vs. his time with the Marlins. It's not everything, but it gets pretty close.

Honestly, he's not that far from his Marlins days right now. Going into today he had a 109 wRC+, which surely ticked up a couple of points after a very good game.

His wRC+ numbers in Miami: 118, 118, 120, 134, 117.

The obvious caveat being that Yelich has been very good for two months now and we have no idea if that will continue.

I've accepted it, and am happy with it if it continues.

My favorite part of today was

1. Seeing Tellez stay on the ball-one dinger to LC, one pulled.

2. Urias drawing a couple walks, in addition to the HR. Starting to see the ball well.

3. The sideline reporter mentioning that Dan Plesac was a member of the Brewers' 82 World Series team.

I enjoyed actually listening to what the sideline reporter had to say instead of counting how many times "he said" is uttered in one 30 second hit.
