Can this please, please, be the game that we don't have our lowest OPS hitter batting cleanup?

The Brewers would have a much better lineup with a Brosseau/Hiura DH platoon.

If CC plays Hiura against a LHP I'm gonna go NUTZ !!!

Agree. I love CC, but he hasn't been himself this year. Really weird decisions, especially with Hiura.

I just don’t understand the thinking behind Hiura’s usage. Why are they so resistant to his reverse splits?

Doesn’t Cutch hit lefties well?
Doesn’t Hiura struggle against lefties?

My frustration has been seeing Cutch bat cleanup against right-handed starters

True, my comment was before I realized we were having a lefty, but shouldn't Renfroe bat cleanup versus them?

You got what you asked for as McCutchen is now batting third though I agree with you that he shouldn't be playing everyday regardless.

CC did it again. It's like they're doing everything under their power to make Hiura fail.

How can reverse solid before the hardest thing in the world for them to understand?

Pretty sure McCutchen has started every game he has been available and he always hits 3rd or 4th since Yelich became the leadoff guy. The time has come to start Hiura against all righties and Brosseau against lefties and sit McCutchen more often.

Yeah, let's bench the guy who has raked this summer in favor of a guy who strikes out almost half of the time....And Brosseau is needed to play the infield against LHP.

He's also cooled off since his hot spell in June.  His fWAR for July/August is 0.1, not that it will matter as they played him every day when he sucked in Apr/May.

Yup, Hiura playing 1B today. I'm 1000% done with CC. Ya, he's gotten them to the playoffs the last few years, but they've pretty much done nothing after they got there. He needs to go NOW. Isn't there a competent manager out there that could salvage our season??

The Brewers could use Ben Sheets as the DH and you would defend it.

I guess summer is June 1st to June 30th.

His WRC+ from June 1st to July 31st was 133....But go ahead with your narrative.

Sme people like to cherry pick the stats to defend whatever the team does but I look at the whole season and it shows that McCutchen is not an everyday player and he shouldn't be penciled into the lineup each and every day hitting 3rd or 4th each game.

133 WRC+ from June 1st to July 31st....Alternatively, the Brewers could be playing in the World Series and you would find a way to label them a bad team.

I don't think it's cherry picking to point out a guy has been our best hitter for the better part of two months when you want to put him on the bench.

Simple question who has had a better season offensively Hiura or McCutchen and while we are at it Hiura vs righthanders against every other player on this team. Keston has done very well against righties yet he never seems to start against them when the numbers clearly show he should start against all righties and not so much against lefties.

I'm sorry if my quoting of stats for ranges of dates was confusing. Let me try again (McCutcheon wRC+ (fWAR)):

June 1 to June 30 = 157 (0.8)

July 1 to August 5 = 102 (0.1)

June 1 to August 5 = 127 (0.8)

Now if you want to spread the very good June out, then why not include the horrible April/May, because June looks like an ISLAND.

Edit: For those that aren't familiar with my previous posts on McCutcheon, here is more data:

Apr 1 to May 31 = 60 (-0.7)

Apr 1 to August 5 = 99 (0.1)

Stop providing facts aginst the narrative that McCutchen is great.
