What the Brewers really need today is for their Cy Young pitcher to have a dominating performance. I’m talking about something like 7 shutout innings like Scherzer was able to do against the Braves last night. A mere quality start of 3 runs in 6 innings might not be good enough.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Keston batting #6 as DH.

OMG! It's happening! Go Hiura! No pressure, just slug 2 dingers or get benched!

Curious since we don't need a 5th/6th starter with the schedule and Alexander has been worse out of the pen.  Perhaps a placeholder and we see Cousins Tuesday or later in the week.

This is good news - seeing McGee DFA’d - regardless of who replaced him on the roster

I think so. A guy who can eat innings if need be. I think we'll see someone replace him soon, Cousins is a decent bet. Perdomo is throwing in N'ville too.

In my humble opinion - this is a “must win” game

I fear - at the end of the season - losing all three games in Pittsburgh … with Burnes / Woodruff / Peralta taking the losses - will mark the beginning of the end for our playoff hopes

Somehow, this team needs to go on a run - like winning 12 of 15 games - or we may be done

Any chance Alexander will be stacked with Peralta - &/or Houser upon his return - since they are on a pitch count until they build up arm strength to 100 plus pitches?

Another possibility - Could Alexander replace Ashby in the starting rotation & allow Ashby to strengthen the bullpen?

I'm guessing Ashby starts at least until Houser is ready.

I'm guessing Alexander is up to go multiple innings so if they want to pull the starter earlier than the 5th/6th they don't keep going to the well with 1 IP from the middle reliever group that's been pretty bad lately.

C'mon Corbin.  Stop being so cute fiddling with the corners.  Your best pitch should be way better than almost every Reds best swing.

Nice to see Wong get his OPS into respectable territory after the bad start.  Now if we could have that 2021 defense back.

He had a great play a couple of innings ago so perhaps that is a start of good D to come?
