Tyrone Taylor has been brutal since May. Way to step up after they DFA'd Cain, the CF door is wide open for him and he refuses to step through.

He should be a non-tender in the offseason.  Between Frelick, Ruiz, Mitchell, Turang able to play CF, possible LF appearances for Hiura, there will be no room on the roster for a .273 OBP.

That inning-ending double play was about as predictable as the sun rising in the east tomorrow.

Pitchers cannot close out innings, especially Ashby. 7 runs should be more than enough but the pitching refuses to hold leads; they almost blew the game yesterday.

The areas that have been mostly good the last week--the areas that HAVE to be good for them to have a chance to win consistently--disappeared today. Typical from Ashby. Lots of impressive stuff, not enough consistency, and you could make a solid argument that his being late covering 1B in the 1st cost him 3 runs. WP in the second cost him another. The bats did enough today to make up for being so-so, but not poor.

Hopefully by the middle of next week Taylor goes back to being what isn't a bad gig for him, 4th OF. His ABs the last two days were deplorable, double notwithstanding.

I'd feel a lot better if they were dominated by the top teams like the Dodgers but missing out on the playoffs becase of their inept play against the bottom of the league is infuriating.

This team cannot continue losing games like this and expect to play in October.

Technically the season ends October 5th so they will be playing in October.

Its too late since they've played most of their games against the terrible teams. They are going to have to win a lot against the good teams to make up for this awful play against the likes of the scrubs, reds, and pirates.

Have now lost 8 against the Cubs and the last 5 against the Pirates. Won’t be sniffing playoff baseball doing that.

That’s what makes this team so maddeningly frustrating to watch this year. Seems like game results have little rhyme or reason compared to the expected performances of a predicted playoff team.

Dangerous time to lose multiple games in Chicago before heading to Los Angeles with the way St. Louis is playing right now. Don’t want to say “must win” for two games in August, but the games on Saturday and Sunday could be crucial.

So I know won loss record is not an indicator for good pitching.

with that being said Ashby is 2-10 on the season…….i don’t know how to find what the Brewers record in games he’s started.

He also has a negative War……minus 0.2 before today..

He's got talent for sure but quite a ways to go before being a good pitcher.

Counsell has to take a ton of the blame for the way the season is going. His refusal to play Hiura against most righties and his bullpen decisions have been awful. Might be time to stop using Milner in high leverage situations or pitching Rogers against the likes of Goldschmidt and Arenado with the game on the line.

I don’t think he gets the loss today.    But he sure as hell deserved it.     He always gives up the lead.    It’s just so lame at this point

You know, I was actually going to type a disclaimer about that and then thought “Aw, no one will care”. ?

Oh we're just bonding! I Knew what you meant, but thought you needed a punch in the arm.
