I agree ... but it is ironic that the team was literally in the process of scoring a run on an RBI double as you posted this.

Just karma's way of screwing with me.

We’re turning this game over to the bullpen already? This is not going to end well.

+1...Unless Freddy says something is wrong this is a mistake. Will probably get through this inning but you are going to see the top of the order at least once more and I dont like the choices for that.

74 pitches.. unless something is wrong with him I don't get it. Hope he's ok.

Then again I thought the same when he was pulled at 84 while throwing a no hitter.

I understand the “not have the starter face a third time through the order” concept that Counsell uses. But it didn’t work very well last night. The bullpen isn’t as lockdown as in past seasons. And the offense hasn’t exactly lit up the scoreboard frequently. So it’s walking the tightrope again for four innings, when Peralta looked competent enough to get the 6th inning.

Most starters see their pitch counts rise as they build up arm strength. Peralta has basically gone from 90 to 80 to 70. So are we trying to weaken him? Not sure I understand the mentality.

We are saving Peralta's arm for the World Series!  ;)

The babying and mismanagement of this roster in 2022 has reached ludicrous speed…

Unearned runs created by opponent errors shouldn’t be counted against you.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

This time it took two misplays for the Brewers to score.

The first run was an error and a fly ball misplayed into a double.

Nice situational hitting!

Only a misplay prevented  complaints about the contact play.

At this point I think they'll take 'em any way they can get 'em. A run is a run.

I take them gladly but they aren’t exactly exhibits for good offense.

When you put the ball in play, things can happen...

The inability to convert RISP to runs this season has been maddening. I'll take a run anyway we can at this point.

I feel like they were better at the beginning of the year, though, I may be misremembering.

The BA with RISP was pretty good during the 1st half.

Not sure about the 2nd.

Really burning up the bullpen trying scrape out wins against the Pirates.

Win or lose, the bullpen is not going to be in great shape heading into a 4 game series against a DBack team that is hot  and scoring a ton of runs. They have caught the Giants in the standings.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Maybe the pirates will screw up a few plays this inning and the Brewers can score an insurance run against the inevitable solo HR from Cruz.

Does Keston's single through Cruz count as a screw up?
