Next season. After all, we won 95 games last year and remain on pace for the mid 80s in wins this year.

You forget that we are around 10 games below 0.500 since the end of May. I don’t think we have a realistic chance to get above 0.500 next year, especially if we bring in a large batch of rookies.

I would not go forward with Caratini as the starting catcher next year. A decent back up who started out nicely, but who has now reverted back to his subpar career norms.

I'm glad I was too busy to notice, until now, that the Brewers were the MLB free game of the day.

You get what you pay for.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

whomever of Feliciano or Severino is up next year will probably be close to sharing the ABs.

Doubleheader tomorrow ... Brewers are David; Giants are Goliath --> knock 'em down -- chop his head off!

Run to the battle line!  Brewers are going to be fine!

I just don't like pitching a position player in the 8th when you're down only 6 in Colorado. I wish the Rockies would've given up in the 8th last night.

I suppose it's actually possible CC thought Jace Peterson had the best shot at a scoreless inning as well. I guess it all worked out in the end.

I just threw my Jack and Coke into my 70" big screen and broke it. My kids started crying and my mother-in-law told me to calm down, so I slapped her across the face. Then my wife grabbed the kids and a suitcase and said "I cant take this anymore". She is leaving me. THANKS A LOT Brewers....You have ruined my life.

Agree. This certainly isn't a stand-pat situation, but it's far from some kind of teardown. What's needed are good personnel decisions, which is something they've done more often than not over the last half decade.

IMO it'll be the two above plus Caratini over the whole of 2023. There's no one I know of better in FA for a one-year deal, and if there is they shouldn't go more than one year anyway.

They should bank on Feliciano being able to share the job soon, then count the days until Quero.

Glad we could put up 3 runs on the back end of the Rockies Relievers.  The Rockies managed 5 against ours yesterday then turfed our new closer.  Too bad we can't seem to get over any humps.

I just checked in and saw the score. I might have to sit this one out.

Sounds like you can say you have something in common with the Brewers,

About the only thing left to decide in my view is will they be able to stay ahead of the Diamondbacks and the Giants.

A giant sweep tomorrow and I think they will eventually LeapFrog the Brewers.

"A" for spirit. "D-" for poetry. ?

Does anyone know the 2 potencial starting pitchers for the Giants tomorrow?

Jakob Junis and Un Decided (according to ESPN).  How have our hitters fared against Un Decided?

Since the trade deadline the Brewers have played the Cubs, Rockies, Pirates, Reds and Diamondbacks a total of 22 times (all below .500). They went 8-14. If they even went 500 against those teams they’d be tied in a wild card spot currently.

I can finally now start watching the Brewers again without being disappointed.  I no longer have to worry about those pesky high expectations that I had earlier in the year.  Thanks Brewers!

IMHO, winning 95 games in 2021 shows what can happen when a lot of things fall into place.

The pitching especially had a combination of excellent performances and good luck with injuries that is unlikely to be repeated. The Brewers very rarely had to use anybody other than their established 6 man rotation to start a game. In this era that is extremely unusual, as the Brewers found out this year. In addition, they had the best 8th and 9th inning bullpen combo in MLB. That is gone.

Offensively they had what might end up being the best 3 months of hitting that Adames will have in his career, plus big contributions from Urias, Garcia, and Narvaez (for at least half of the season).  I think it’s questionable to expect a bunch of rookies to make substantial contributions.

95 wins last year and mid 80s in wins this year (at least for now). Split the difference and that's around 90 wins as I said. Still believe that a lot of what has gone wrong this year is readily solvable, though not inevitable. It will require some shrewd maneuvering by Stearns and co. to add a bat or two and build better pitching depth. Rookies may experience some rough patches, but will also bring more upside than guys like McCutchen, Cain, Taylor, etc. Meanwhile, the historic 2021 rotation is still largely in place and Devin remains one of the elite relievers in baseball.
