It’s a bullpen day for the Brewers, with the multiple off days this week I can see the logic of pushing starters back a day. With just 21 left to play, the Brewers will need to be good nearly every day. Hopefully they can figure out Jordan Montgomery who has given up one or fewer runs in 6 of his 7 starts with the Cardinals including a 6.0 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 2 BB, 8 SO stat line in his appearance against the Crew on August 12th.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Pitching our relief?  I hope this will not lead to grief!

They got their prime lefty!  This chore is gonna' be hefty!

Let's turn the Red Birds into Dead Birds!

Blah blah blah…we’re screwed tonight. :)

Might as well just trade Hiura this off season.  I see no path to more playing time for him here.

He's been slumping this month after playing pretty regularly and we're facing a LHP tonight. I don't see the problem....

Slumping this month?  Of course he is, he never gets regular playing time.  His spotty at bats just don't do him any favors.

Kid is being mishandled by our coaching staff.  When we trade him, I hope he gets treated better with his new organization.

Hey Hopper!  We agree on something!

Karma demands that he succeed magnificently somewhere.

I'll be cheering for the Brewers, win or lose,  until the last out of 2022.

But I just don't see them making the playoffs.  It's gutting to see St. Louis catch on fire as the Crew crashes and burns.

Weird fire metaphors, but you get it.

Notice I said slumping this month despite "regular playing time". If you look at his at-bats for this month, you'll see that his # of at-bats is far from spotty. Some people around here treat him like Ted Williams.

Well OK.  But his being the Brewers' yo-yo can't have helped much.

At some point a guy has gotta get past it and produce regardless. These guys aren't children, they're professionals. Hiura's play this month in regular at-bats doesn't justify him being an automatic insertion into the lineup against LHPs. If we were facing a RHP, I might agree, but we're facing Montgomery who is tough from the left side.

Regular playing time means starting 5 or 6 games per week on a regular basis.  He is not getting regular playing time.  As soon as he has an 0-fer or two, he is benched.  No other regular player is treated this way.

I guess you're not looking at the facts because what you're saying is patently not true. He literally just started 12 of 14 games from (8/28-9/9), with one of those "no-starts" being one end of a doubleheader....

If he strikes out less than 40% of the time with that new organization, then maybe he'll get regular playing time.
