The Mudcats pitching train just keeps on chugging along. I'm very very curious to see RHP Gerson Calzadilla's first bullpen work for the first place Mudcats. Will they ease him in? OR, will they throw him right into high-leverage innings?

Lara I didn't see coming, despite the nice #s at Carolina, due to this being a full age-18 season for him. But he certainly didn't appear over his head in his debut. Both A-level squads are going to be fun to follow in '24.

Shoutout to Ethan Murray at Biloxi. He was quietly having a nice season; now it's not so quiet anymore.

Why keep Anderson on the 26-man roster if he isn’t playing? I prefer Toro to Anderson or Tellez.

Because Brian Anderson plays good 3B defense and Toro is a terrible defensive player. Neither are getting AB so might as well keep the guy who is a good defensive 3B than a guy who sucks everywhere defensively.

I will politely offer: the best defense I've seen Abraham Toro play is at 1B. Was surprisingly decent. And having seen him play 3B, I will realistically state: given the healthy candidates at 1B playing for the Brewers (and Winker now also rehabbing there) he's an important member of the Sounds playoff push.
