I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's a "make up" for there not being a Monday nighter in the final week.  I thought the double header was usually week 1 however, so not sure why it's week 2 this year, unless the whole 9/11 new york thing is why.

Does it really make much more money since they're only scheduled an hour apart? Wouldn't you just be splitting the viewerbase and therefore not making that much more than if you only showed one game?

I mean...it's not like the NFL cares. They've already got that 115 Billion dollar TV deal over 10 years(maybe 11). 

Does seem stupid the networks would sign off on it.

 

I HATE watching the Panthers this year. They are so trash and you just know both Chicago and AZ are going to be rewarded for kind punting on last years draft(though both did get elite OTs) and get multiple top 10 picks in one of the best drafts in a long time because Houston and Carolina are so awful.

There small are segments of the population that will watch both games.  Larger groups that will watch "their team" or perhaps "their division".

But having said that, I wonder... is commercial $$ better on a Sunday afternoon or Monday night?

That's what happens when you have guys like Joe Burrows 4th on the depth chart!

I hate to sound like a broken record, bust just ONE more year the Bears need to convince themselves Fields is the answer. 

 

Such a big part of this is the teams drafting them. I think CJ Stroud has a chance to be a good QB, but he is in an absolute dumpster fire right now in Houston.

Sean Peyton is without a doubt the most overrated coach in the NFL. Everybody rags on McCarthy but look at Peyton's resume with New Orleans and it practically mirrors McCarthy's in Green Bay. Remember, he had a first ballot Hall Of Fame quarterback too.

I just need to see the Bears win enough games or see enough from Fields that they decide...he deserves another year! Two top 10 picks, get him Marvin Harrison Jr, a LT and surround him with more talent. That...that's definitely the issue. NOT that he's just too slow in identifying the open man!

It's the coaching. They're making him too robotic.
