How can the Bears not clean house?  Not one but two coaches fired for behavioral reasons? How can you have any trust in coaching staff?

Maybe at the end of the season but not during.  The owners don’t like to fire HC’s until the end of the season unless the HC does something morally wrong where they have no choice.

Young has only played a total of 19 games over the last three seasons and 34 games total over his four year career.  Total of 14 sacks for his career of which over half came during his rookie year in 2020.  He's more name than actual production.

Sweat has played in 51 games with 28.5 sacks over the last four seasons.  Sweat is the better, healthier, more reliable player and is worth more on the trade market.

Healthier sure. Better? I'd say that is debatable:

plus the Bears didn't get an extension when they traded for him. He has a ton of leverage now.

Dobbs can at least help convince Vikings fans they're trying to win, so it makes sense. Sure you can tank but you have to pretend like you're not trying to.

But what does Chicago get with Sweat now as opposed to just throwing money at him in FA in the off-season? Do they get draft compensation if he leaves or something?

All they get is a head start on negotiating a contract with him.  They could franchise tag him also.

Any Packer fan over the age of 35, you know exactly what play that last TD by the Chiefs before halftime reminded you of without me even having to say it.

Well, I fit the first criteria, but didn't see the play itself... so now you have to say it! 😉😅

I think there was a scoop and score with a lateral in there. So the Reggie lateral to LeRoy that started the Lambeau Leap. The one where Reggie may or may have stepped out.

Clearly he DIDN'T. 😄

I guess we look pretty silly for criticizing the Vikings for trading for Dobbs.

The Vikes GM would be an upgrade over Gutey.

I'm not sure why anyone would have. Dobbs lost a lot of games but put up some really good numbers with the Cards. Was rolling with the random UDFA they had really the smarter move?

They gave up about nothing to get him. I was more surprised Arizona didn't think he was at least an ok backup to keep around.

Because he led them to victories over the Falcons and Saints? All they're doing is screwing their draft position.

Not really - if the Saints' DBs could catch a ball early in that game a couple of those early Viking scoring drives would've resulted in INTs and that game goes a much different way.

If they take care of business against poor competition the next 3 weeks, the Vikes probably are a playoff team this year based on this middle of the season winning streak - and then they'll once again bow out on WC weekend and go into an offseason without a starting QB on the roster (unless they plan to give Dobbs a longterm extension for $20M a season...to which I'd say "Please do!"), Jefferson wanting to be paid like prime Randy Moss in today's salary cap era (i.e., $30M a season), and a draft position around #20.  Plenty of Vikings fans around here would rather they be losing these games, not winning them right now, because they know their overall team roster is not set up for any sustained success that puts them in the conversation for winning a ring.

Imagine being a Bills fan right now. They had realistic expectations of competing for a championship going into the season. Now they take an ugly home loss to the Broncos with a myriad of costly mistakes and are 5-5.

Ken Dorsey when he heard the news he was fired:

I called it a good move from the beginning.  Not that I thought that much of Dobbs, but because they gave up practically nothing to get an experienced backup at a time when they had a 5th round rookie QB starting and a UDFA rookie on the practice squad.

The fact that he looked great in two games has been "splashy", but only the most clueless of Viking fans are talking about him being their future.  Though to be fair, "clueless" might include a lot of Viking fans. 😂

The NFL is also investigating whether the Bengals violated their injury policy with Burrow since there's suspision he's been hurt all year and not on the injury report so I expect a high draft pick taken away from them at the very least.
