Crazy to think, but GB has a playoff spot in front of them if they continue to develop on offense in a very top heavy NFC - even assuming a loss to the Chiefs, the rest of their schedule sets up very well for a good December with a remaining head to head against MN to potentially jump them in the standings, and finishing 9-8 likely gets them the 7th spot.

Had they found a way to win a couple of those close losses early in the season, they'd firmly be a 10+ win team in Love's 1st season as a starter.  This team's been frustrating plenty of time in 2023, but to me watching a very young team struggle and grow and likely wind up around 0.500 or even better is much more rewarding than watching a team with a veteran HOF qb in the twilight of his career scuffle around to a similar record and still wonder when the rebuild is going to officially start.

All that being said, they will now probably wind up losing out, lol - such is life in the NFL blob with a really young team!

So it turns out Josh Dobbs isn't the next Fran Tarkenton. Who would've thought?

Why?  Neither one is leading the Vikings to a SB victory! 😅

So Dobbs is still a good trade?

Well.. yes because they gave up almost nothing for him. Sure he threw 4 INTs and looked bad last night, but trading for him was more about QB depth (they were down to a 4th (5th?) round rookie and an UDFA rookie QB).  They fact that he won a couple games and had a lot of fun doing it was worth the trade (i.e. swapping a 6th for a 7th round pick).

Actually Packer fans should be happy he won games.  He isn't going to win against a good team and he just kept the Viking from tanking for a few weeks at least.

Fox9 sports in Minneapolis was hilarious last night!  One of the anchors is a Packer fan.  He kept emphasizing how "HORRIBLE" the Viking-Bears game was.  Then they cut to the sports reporter in Chicago and he ends with "and the worst part of this is that bad teams with a 5-6 record are now in the playoff hunt."  😂😂

Wait, does this mean DobbsMania is over ALREADY? 🤣

They will get Jefferson back so I imagine they might have 2-3 more wins in them. But I am guessing it will be Cousins back next season, he wants to be there and it's hard to think of anyone better they can obtain.

Yes, but making that type of veteran qb contract work with what will likely have to be a market-setting contract for Jefferson this offseason plus a big contract needed soon for Darrisaw will lead to some significant holes across the rest of their roster for multiple seasons.  They are a roster very much in limbo.

I think they'd be better off going with Hall as the starter next season and then gearing up for drafting a quarterback in 2025 early.

I thought they would be clear of Hunter and Cousins after this season but looks like a ton of dead money there. Maybe like us they are due for a cap reset but it will be interesting what Cousins' market will be coming off the injury. They may be able to get a cheaper one year deal done or maybe Cousins has made so much he will take less to stay there. I agree they need to move on I just don't expect it.

They're starting to look like the Saints. Not quite that bad, but just jumping through hoops with the Cap to be an average team. They did have 13 wins last year, but we all know how legit that was.

At least 2 of the INTs were balls that should have been caught, maybe 3? I can't remember now.

Yes, even in 2023, they were having cap issues like we had a couple years ago. Cousin has continued to improve the last couple of years so that really puts them in a bind.  2-3 years ago, people were ready to boot him.  This year, he was a major reason for being competitive.

their owner is the problem

I wasn't familiar with him but in light of some of the things I've seen about him lately, namely trying to call plays during the game, I completely understand now.

So are the Lions back on track or do the Saints just suck that much?

Maybe a bit of both or the moon is in a favorable position.

I'm beginning to think that the Patriots are the worst team in the NFL. Oh, have the mighty fallen. Back to perpetual irrelevancy like they were pre-Brady.

As much as it sucks I think we're destined for a 49ers versus cowboys NFC championship.

No way the cowboys make it that deep in the playoffs.  A lions cowboys match up would be fun to see who's franchise demons win out for them to choke it away.

kinda nice to see the Eagles head coach get knocked down a peg. That dude rubs me the wrong way

I’ve seen enough 49ers voodoo to not be surprised that they’d beat Philly.  But I’m pretty surprised the Eagles are getting boat raced.  When San Fran plays their game, they’re as tough as they come.  But nobody is infallible.  It’s kind of a weak year league wide.

I'm not going to venture into the thread from last night's Packer game but reffing all over the league is terrible and inconsistent. There is no league wide conspiracy against your favorite team.

I had the realization that the optics are bad when it comes to the NFL being fair, and in certain ways, they certainly aren't,

What evidence, as fans, do we have that a bad call is a conspiracy versus refs being humans and making mistakes? I think the accuracy of calls need to be improved across all sports, but does anyone have anything to prove it's a conspiracy other then sensationalized bad calls that can affect the game.

For example, the Fail Mary wasn't a conspiracy.  Neither was Dez's "catch"

None, other than being blinded by their own fandom. I am willing to concede that certain QB's probably get roughing calls more than others though but that's about it.

Yes the conspiracy thing is a joke.  Star players are going to get some preferential treatment, but it happens in the NFL far less than the NBA.

But this is one game where it just seemed like a host of errors, especially at the end so it gets highlighted.  Especially on a prime-time game.

Yeah, I've seen trending topics about conspiracies and the refs related to Gambling, but I refuse to even entertain that. It's ridiculous.

Gambling is going to have to get SOOOO much bigger for the NFL to be willing to put a 20B a year industry at risk.

The refs aren't full time and really aren't paid that well given the league's revenue and their importance. They're also losing important refs to the booth where they get paid more(that's probably a smaller number, but still good refs).

The Rams signed Mason Crosby to their practice squad. Just sayin'.

Good for him. It's a little weird to me he couldn't find a job this year for a contender. Seattle would seem like a perfect place for him. He's lost some leg strength(not as much as has been suggested IMO, but some).

But he's proven to be clutch, a good bad-weather kicker and he is pretty damn reliable beyond 50. Especially in big spots.
