Lol at the Dodgers adding more injury prone pitchers to pay while on the IL.  I don't get this move for them at all.

Fully expect them to now give Buehler a 10 year extension as he rehabs his 2nd TJ, too.

The Rays are absolutely now an extension farm system for Dodger prospects who are blocked on their own 40 man.

I am going to assume this is what the Dodgers offered for Burnes and Adames.  I still don’t believe Burnes has the value people think he has.  The Brewers are more than likely going to keep Burnes and Adames as the offers don’t look like they are going to be much more than what the Dodgers offered.

Very doubtful. Burnes and Adames are WAY more valuable than Glasnow and Margot. I don't think BTV is an exact science but it generally does pretty good job. They have Burnes and Adames worth almost $35M more surplus value than Glasnow and Margot.

Now the deal hinging on Glasnow signing at extension likely adds value for Glasnow but Burnes and Adames would have never been on the table for an offer that week.

The Dodgers always seemed like the perfect landing spot for Burnes but it appears as though that ship has sailed.  Time for the Orioles or someone else to step up.

Orioles just don't seem likely. Elias is way too much of a prospect hugger to give up a big haul for a rental.

Yeah for sure but at some point, there simply won't be room on their roster for all of these prospects. They have an abundance of infield prospects and won't be able to keep everybody.

Dodgers rotation is still pretty thin imo... Buehler coming off his 2nd TJ, Glasnow only reaching 120 innings once (last year), and Ryan Yarbrough is a body. And even if they sign Yamamoto. The bottom half of their rotation is pretty inexperienced. The odds of Burnes being traded there are lower today, but I don't think the odds have gone down too drastically

I think they're going to sign Yamomoto with Ohtani recruiting him.

I am not saying that is their value.  I am saying that is what the Dodgers offered for Burnes and Adames and I don't think the Brewers are getting offers for either that are coming close to their values hence why I think their value is far lower than what their value is perceived to be.  Meaning the Brewers are not going to accept these offers and are just going to keep both.

I don't really understand the extension. Glasnow is a really good pitcher, but making that a condition of the trade?

I like Pepiot though. A 70 FB and a 75 Change. The Rays are saving 12M for Margot, which likely reduced their return on the trade.

It feels like it's another good pitching prospect away, but maybe Tampa really likes Pepiot. Pitched well as a rookie and can slide right into that rotation.

5/135 for Mr. Glass doesn't seem like a good investment.

Maybe Andrew Friedman is going to sign 15 fragile but super-talented starters (cost be damned) and hope he can get enough starts of them combined to cover a full season.

Good lord....$135m for a starting pitcher who will be lucky to give them 135 innings in one of those 5 seasons

It's all about the end game for LA. Glasnow's Fip has been below 3 the last 3 seasons.  Show up on the mound in the playoffs in any of these seasons and they are far more likely winning that playoff game than with what? 90pct of starters? These aren't moves to win a division anymore. It's WS when healthy enough.

LA has won 11 of 12 division titles and only a freak 2021 season by the Giants did LA lose the division with 106wins by 1 game. Their 2020 WS is "" by it being the shortened pandemic season. They are well overdue for a true WS with their "bites at the apple"

Weird trade imo...

Very weird.  Grissom must have no trade value if this is who he was traded for.  Even with cash added to the deal it would have to be a significant amount for it to bring up the value.

Apparently 17 mil going the Braves way

Now do the Braves dump another contract, keep Sale, or trade him say to Yankees who Boston couldn't nor wouldn't do?  Grissom can't quite put a ceiling on them, only 22 with more game experience needed. Doesn't seem to have been top 100 prior to graduating off lists but maybe.  Small look loses profile for SS and light HR power to profile as your long term 3b.
