Only 3 teams, the Yankees (7-5), Blue Jays (4-2), Brewers (6-3) have winning records vs. teams above .500.

Meanwhile, the darlings of baseball, the Tampa Bay Rays are 1-2 in such contests, and the Atlanta Braves have yet to play a game against a team currently over .500.

Playing good right against a very tough early season schedule yep.

Really impressed with the team's approach this year. It's fun to watch.

Quite frankly, the team cohesion and the approach are two of the biggest reasons I am optimistic.

Seriously, games I thought were in the "L" bucket are probably in the "up for grabs" bucket, including the starts by Rea. That says a lot about this team, and it's very good, IMO.

At this point, I'd be cautious about big adds, but again, looking to bring back Suter might be better, especially with how the Raptor's been doing so far.

I hope I find a wife someday that loves me as much as you love Suter.

One of the big reasons: Right now, bringing Suter in (say for Lutz or some other blocked OF prospect like Gray) would probably NOT disrupt the team chemistry. The Hader trade's taught the Brewers front office that.

This may not be optimism, but it makes me happy: There are three teams that are 10 or more games out as April ended. They are, the As, Royals...and St. Louis.

Brewers beat the Dodgers!

We needed the optimism thread to get bumped. It's been 8 days without a post. Can't imagine why.

Joey Wiemer belongs...guy looks like a 10 year corner OF starter and can also go get it in center.  He's never going to win batting titles, but he'll have a few seasons hitting 30-40 bombs with plus defense and baserunning.

Even with the rough stretch we recently had the Brewers own the 3rd best record in the NL. They are only 3 games back of the Braves.

Underperforming Brewers: Corbin Burnes, Freddy Peralta, Willy Adames, Tyrone Taylor, Christian Yelich (relative to his Xstats), William Contreras (with the bat),

Key Injuries: Brandon Woodruff, Aaron Ashby, Luis Urias, Wade Miley, Sal Frelick (all slated to return at some point)

Overperforming Brewers: Owen Miller, Bryse Wilson? Joel Payamps?.....

Positive regression/better injury luck forthcoming...
