Not related to today's game but didn't feel like making a thread for it.

Brewers push back Lauer's next start/move him to the pen. Either way he's not set up to pitch against the Cardinals anymore which feels like a very smart call.

Is there a reason why the Brewers starting pitcher for tomorrow is listed as TBA?

You might think Peralta would be scheduled because he started on Monday. Is there something wrong with Peralta or are they saving him for the Cardinals?

ETA, I posted this at the same time as the one above that provides the probable starters. We are going tomorrow, and I was hoping to see Peralta.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Colin Rea is starting tomorrow. Lauer out of the rotation.

I just posted an update from Curt Hogg. Rea is starting tomorrow. Freddy, Miley, Burnes will start against the Cardinals. Lauer either had his start pushed back to avoid the Cardinals, is hurt, or was moved to the bullpen.

Surprised they aren't making up a phantom injury given the decline in his velocity. Pen seems like it would be best as he could hopefully rebuild his velocity in shorter stints.

But, yes, the current iteration of Lauer against the Cards was just asking for disaster.

Damn. Yelich 97th percentile in hard hit% right now. That's even better than his 2018/2019 seasons.

And 90th percentile in OAA!

The 90th percentile OAA next to the 16th percentile Outfield Jump is pretty hilarious.

Can't wait for the statistical profile to turn into actual production.

Fingers crossed. He has been having a significant amount of bad luck.

I saw the rhyme and thought I'd try some type of poetic mumbo jumbo

Greinke is quite odd
Yet his pitches dance like rain
In the end he'll lose

The Royals offense is rinky-dinky,

And so another loss for one Zack Greinke.

Doesn’t seem likely as long as so many of those hard hit balls are driven right into the ground to the right side of the infield for easy outs.

That’s not exactly true. His average launch angle is where it was in 2018 when he won MVP. And he has a 120 wRC+ in his last 40 PAs..

This pretty much eliminates injury as the reason for Lauer’s decreased velo and leaves his mechanics as the culprit.    If Lauer can’t tick-up, and improve his command, he should stay far away from this team’s rotation. Hopefully that won’t be the case.
