There appear to be several roster changes coming in the next week

Ruf or Voit? … there is not room for both on the 26-man roster

Monasterio will return to Nashville once Adames is healthy

Who gets moved down when Urias is added? I assume Brosseau

Is Wiemer safe? What about Turang? I assume both will remain in Milwaukee

What about our pitching staff?
How soon will Woody return?

Activate Urias. Option Monasterio

DFA Voit, he clears waivers and stays in AAA to earn elevated minor league salary agreed in his split contract

Activate Adames (God please grant him a full recovery). Odds are some other position player goes to injured list. Otherwise, option Brosseau, Turang or Wiemer. Most likely Turang to get his 2-week manipulation in

Likely have to recall Janson Junk for a start in 8 days or so. Cousins or Megill gets optioned

Any chance Winker gets DFA’d? He’s been quite the disappointment & offers nothing defensively.

Should have happened a month ago in a swap for Hiura. Or last night for Singleton.

No reason fans should have to face this day-in, day-out. Frustrating, just like last year with then-toothless Cutch & Hiura manning DH spot in September.

But I assume nothing will change on this front, unfortunately. Can’t allow my expectations to rise, only to be disappointed.

Urias for Turang, depending on how long Willy is out and when Urias is ready.

Perkins for Weimer, at least long enough to get the extra year of control.

Abraham Toro for Tyrone in a week or so if Taylor doesn't start hitting.

Singleton for Wonker. Keston when ready.

Do it all on the same day to make a point.

They have to at this point. Maybe also let Alex Jackson/Brian Navarretto go and move Quero up to AAA, although I'm a little worried about his very low walk rate.

MSJ reports Taylor’s elbow is an issue again. May be wise to get surgery & go another direction.

Who is healthy & available in Nashville? We would need a RH bat.

If Taylor is having issues I'm guessing they'll gut it out with him for another day or two, then add Urias or Adames. Otherwise...........Skye Bolt? Either way it's looking more & more like our best 3B will be stuck in RF pretty regularly.

I don’t remember a year where Milwaukee had significant injuries at both the Major league & AAA levels at the same time

This current roster has 10+ guys that I would not have anticipated “helping” us this year

This may be one of Counsell’s better managerial jobs - keeping the Brew Crew afloat with injuries everywhere

How long before we see …

Wicho?

Keston?

Sal?

Who else might join the Crew?

So who replaces Sousa today? Do they finally call up Vieira?

With Winker hitting ok in AAA, I think it's time to end the Singleton experiment. Winker gets a couple weeks and if nothing improves Huira will hopefully be up to speed come end of June/early July.

Also I would think Miley will take Rea's rotation spot maybe starting in a few days and just bumping a couple guys back a day.

Matt Bush in maybe a week for Tyson Miller.

Miley is listed as the probable starter Saturday night (June 17th).  You could be right about Rea but then again seems like they’re going 6 man rotation

Winker for Singleton looks like a no-brainer by Friday.

Hiura (once he's activated at AAA) & Frelick (a hit & a couple walks in his return to Nashville) are possibilities in the next week or two also. Maybe Turang (4 RBI Wednesday) works his way back into the conversation.

The thing is, we're talking about 3 LHH and a RHH with reverse splits.

It REALLY shouldn't be this hard to find a RHed hitter with platoon splits for LHPers.

I totally agree. It makes me wonder if this cutter/slider-happy league is making life tough on many platoon hitters. The other day, (I forget which game), the team featured a bunch of righties in the lineup against Burnes due to his cutter.

Well, Burnes is a unique case, but maybe there's something to that. It still just seems like an issue that's much more unique to the Brewers.

Just about every team below .500 has a FA to be who's crushing LHPing. Teoscar Hernandez is another guy. I'm sure Seattle's not gonna move him anytime soon, but if they get to the ASB and they're not within 5-6 games, I'd think they'd be willing to move him.

I'd be on the phone with the Rockies right now asking about Grichuk. Is it the 9.3M? Without doing the math, that's gotta be about ~5.5M left? It can't be prohibitive.

And he's hitting RHPing well also. Of course you have to adjust for Coors, but he's got a history of being a good, solid player.

The only real reason I can think they're not making moves is they value their high end prospects too much(clearly not worth one of the top 10 and then we have a VERY young system with so many LA players coming through who are 18-20 and you there's so much projection with those guys...we just don't have many players who are close to the big leagues who have value.

Still, the Rockies owe us. The way they gave away Arenado AND paid 80M of his salary, the least they can do is send Grichuck our way1

The Rockies tend to be no shows at the trading deadline almost every year.  The odds of the Rockies trading anyone at the deadline are probably extremely low.

2022 traded no one at the deadline

2021 traded cash considerations to the Reds for Ashton Goudeau; traded Mychal Givens to the Reds for Case Williams and Noah Davis

2020 traded Jacob Wallace and international draft bonus pool to the Red Sox for Kevin Pillar; traded Tyler Nevin, Terrin Vavra and Michael Deson to the Orioles for Mychal Givens

2019 Traded international Bonus pool to the Cubs for Jimmy Herron; traded Alfredo Garcia to the Yankees for Joe Harvey

2018 Traded Jerry Vasto to the Royals for Drew Butera

The Rockies will buy but they don't sell all that often or ever at the deadline.

Still can't believe they not only didn't trade Bard but gave him a big extension last trade deadline. Madness from them and it's worked out like absolute crap.

I can easily think of 5 - maybe 6 - players on the current 26-man roster who could go away & I would celebrate: Winker, Tellez, Tapia, Perkins, & Mejia for sure

I don’t recall a recent team with this many weak, bottom of the roster players

I’d rather see Jahmai Jones, Keston Hiura, Abraham Toro OR a few trade acquisitions on the team in place of any of the above players

In time - Tyler Black & Sal Frelick too

I also wonder if Urias will ever figure things out - if so, he too could be an improvement

Things that should happen after today's game (IMO):

Hiura to the 40 man and 26 man.

Winker DFA

Justin Wilson to the 40 man and 26 man.

Megill to the minors, Jason Alexander DFA

Things that should happen soon:

Woodruff to the 40 man and 26 man.

Mejia DFA

I will say I've quite liked Mejia pitching so far, looks good to me, and a valuable part of the shuttle squad. Bit unlucky his first start, but we'll see!

I like him too... but he doesn't have options, and we're gonna need to take someone off the 40 man. I suppose an upcoming trade could help that and save him.

I suppose you could option Uribe and DFA Sousa or something like that. But Uribe seems legit too.

Yeah it depends how much they want to make sure they have the options, and how much better Uribe is (I think he's definitely an upgrade, but how big of one in Counsell's eyes?)

DFA Sousa seems a no brainer, a few players will be looking at 40 man spots and worrying
