Can’t watch the game today because of a Spectrum Internet and cable outage in our area

Another reminder of how frustrating it is to listen to Uecker when you can’t also see the video for yourself.

On Tapia’s HR he said the ball was off-the-wall and then said it was gone. On Wiemer’s drive he sounded like the ball was going into orbit as he said “ get up, get up, get out of here,,…..caught.”

He's become our Scooter Rizzuto, but I still think he's great!

To be fair to Ueck, I thought that Wiemer ball was gone. It was a foot from going over the fence in dead center.

And the game is tied because the ump blew strike 3 on the previous pitch..******* ROBOT UMPS PLEASE

I've become a robot guy.  It just feels like the umps are really bad this year for some reason, maybe because they have the added burden of pitch clock management. It's been just awful.

I think what we're seeing is a disparity in umpiring. Most of umpiring has been getting better - and by quite a bit - over the past decade. Almost all the new umpires in the league are in the top half of pitch calling.

What we're noticing is that the old guard is absolutely awful. The new umps are making that more obvious than ever.

Brewers are starting to smash Gallen since the start of the 5th inning and everything is finding gloves. So frustrating.

might as well get used to it as long as they won’t be going to automated balls and strikes at least until 2025.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

I'll take that run, but that inning was so close to something special.

Anderson - 101 EV, 20 LA, 352ft, xBA .380

Tapia - 100 EV, 25 LA, 401ft, xBA .560

Urias - 78 EV, 17 LA, 178ft, xBA .910

Wiemer - 102 EV, 31 LA, 402ft, xBA .670

Really unfortunate to only get 1 hit and 1 run from that inning.

Meanwhile a bb, single+error, and a liner that squeaks past 2bUrias scores 2 runs next half of the inning.

I like Rock, but have never found him that funny...but his "you can't teach people to care, Jeff...he cares" line after the diving not-quite-a-stop effort by the ball boy made me laugh.

Everything I'm hearing from the tests is that they are going to approve the challenge system instead of full automation. It's already been proven to work and is widely liked, I think we'll see it in 2025 most likely.

It looked to me like a borderline pitch that was a ball.

That’s what the mlb.com game cast shows. It also shows that one of the strikes in that at bat could have been a ball.

No matter who’s on the team…..you seem to complain that if we only had somebody else everything would be fine.

Did Turang not need to go down? Of course he did……Urias has been fine defensively since he’s been back.

Seem is the key word…. I understand that he needed to go because of the bat. Just making an observation that we miss his glove.

The challenge system is a great solution. Limits the downsides of a purely automated system, preserves pace, and introduces an element of strategy.

I'm pretty worried about Strez and Peguero. Payamps has earned my confidence, but it's pretty tough to compete when both the middle of your order and the last third of your bullpen is shaky.

Not a solution. Pace would be awful. When robots come, we’ll ask why we didn’t use this earlier…. Just like pitch clock.
