One encouraging thing ... none of our top starters pitched in this series ... no Burnes, Woodruff, Peralta, or Miley ... hopefully, in a playoff series with those guys going, we are more competitive.

And maybe Matt Arnold swallows some pride and brings up Hiura by then ... the guy who hit over .300 with about 20 homers in his rookie season not long ago!  I don't see any of our "freshmen" coming close to those numbers!

There is no such thing as a 50/50 ball-strike call. The strike zone is defined in the rulebook. It isn't an opinion thing that can go one way or another. It's either a ball or a strike. That was 100% a strike.

I'm not sure what's so outrageous about the umpire calling an extremely borderline pitch a ball. Happens all the time. Would've been nice if he called it a strike, but it's not the reason we're giving up runs to the Braves. How about Monasterio not recording the out on that pop-up? Execution needs to be perfect to beat these guys.

Guys like Turang and Blake Perkins with no power should not be striking out this much. Bunt for a hit every once in a while. Paul Molitor had 3200 hits and he tried once per game when he was younger.

These guys belong in the minors!

Yes and technically there's no ties at 1st either..but in the real world where the calls are still subjectively determined by a human, and not a computer, there are always going to be plays that are so close that they go for or against you about half the time.

A sinker pitch would mean ball is sinking as it crosses the plate. So above the knees going down. Pitches would have looked a strike alot longer than looking a ball at the very moment it crosses the "umps" zone. I'll never get how these pitches get called low when in the zone. Wasn't outside or inside corner to add that possibility.  Over the plate.

Monasterio not recording the out on that pop-up didn't result in the Braves scoring any runs.

The Braves offense is really good. They were gifted a call there.

Kevin seitzer is probably the best hitting coach in baseball right now.

I was looking back through the numbers all the way to when he was with the Diamondbacks and everywhere he goes hitters get better.

Because the Brewers have never been gifted a call?  Doesn't change the fact that Rea spit the bit, LOL.

My two cents, that missed call had the ball catching the zone by basically the amount of the seam of the baseball. I aint gonna sweat those type of missed calls one bit.

Bring him in as a player ... he can probably hit better than Turang and Adames!

Turang and Adames are terrific young men and good personalities, BUT we need production at the plate.

Never seen someone get so triggered by an "lol" before. Take a deep breath.

All I know is that was a strike according to every publicly available system we have. Little reason to think it wouldn't be the same for any MLB one.

I am perfectly calm so no need for you (of all people) to tell me to take a deep breath.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Crying about the umpire because of such a bordeline call is just a bit pathetic, in my opinion.

I mean, people cry when the ump misses any other call. Thing is, most other calls are reviewable and subject to being overturned.

It was a perfect pitch and a strike to get out of the inning. Ump missed it and the Braves are up 5-3 now as a result.

Oh, clever comment of the day!

Of course nobody will be complaining that Santana just struck out. Only complain about calls that go against us. Maybe that's what a team forum is all about but I've never been into that either.

Rea didn't even really spit the bit because the pitch to Olson was on the inside corner. Olson and the Braves are just that good and benefited from the opportunity given to them by the ump that they shouldn't have had. LOLOLOL

That should have been strike 3, too.

Because being passive aggressive is a weak trait and adding that cute little "LOL" at the end is nothing but that.  Doubling down by calling someone "triggerd" because they called you out on it is even more pathetic and even more weak.

Do we EVER drop down a bunt??

Right, because you didn't get bizarrely triggered by a simple "lol".
