I can't imagine how embarrassing this loss is for a Bears fan. At home, basically a first career start though not technically, your top pick in his third year looks absolutely terrible and Love gets benched because it's out of hand.

You'd have more success at QB picking blindfolded than the Bears have had. It's incredible.

So much of it is the Bears having the wrong people trying to develop Fields, and them having a garbage OL...but yeah, I've never thought of Fields as a franchise-altering quarterback.

I've long thought Fields isn't accurate enough to play quarterback at a high NFL level against defenses who play coverage, and he likely will never have a receiver room more talented than who he was throwing to at OSU against ovrrmatched collegiate secondaries.

Nothing Fields has done in the NFL has made me change my opinion of that.

I have a few friends who have been worried about Fields taking the Bears somewhere.

I’m 100% in your camp about him and have been so since he was drafted.

Great win to usher in the Love era! And Vikes lost! My only quibbles would be all the undisciplined penalties but things were pretty chippy on both sides. Also the deep throw accuracy continues to be not so great for Love but as long as he gets the job done in the end.🙂

Immensely gratifying win.

Very much so.  It makes living in Illinois quite bearable, at least until round 2.

I look forward to a more challenging matchup in the future to see how this team does. Love impressed, but the Bears had zero pass rush. And the Bears offense…yikes. The trenches matter the most at the end of the day and the Bears were wildly inferior. Will be interesting to see if we have a pass rush or if the Bears O-Line was just that trash.

Jordan Love protected the football, a nice trait to mirror from the predecessor. If he can do that consistently, idk, I think this team is good enough to get to the playoffs.

Wyatt had a great game, I am really high on our DL and they showed up today. Great seeing them stuffed on 2 straight QB sneaks early, if the Packers did it twice I would be pissed. Try something else

This is true...we don't actually know what Fields is...if we're being honest, I don't really think Love would have looked great if you flipped them.

BUT, I really want the Bears to stick it out one more year with Fields. The MOST Bears move possible would be to go into a draft with Caleb Williams, Drake Maye and then a couple other guys who by the end of the year could make this a really loaded QB class...and keep trying to build around Fields until they decide after '24 they need a new QB.

They do look like they hit on Darnell Wright(though he had about 5 false starts, only 1 of which were called). On the left side, I think Braxton Jones would be our 4th LT. Maybe 5th and I'm not even including Tom.

Didn't see the entire game but I am not sure if this was more the Packers being good or the Bears being bad.

That offensive line in Chicago is just terrible.

This sums up pretty much every QB from Ohio State.

I love how Alexander and Douglas play from snap to whistle... not so much after though. They need to cool off on the post-play crap.

Walker would make a great RB...just don't give him the ball at the goal line. Not sure why he dance down the line instead of plunging in.  Would've been safer just pushing through the guy instead of dancing away from him.

Jordan is Loving him some Jayden Reed; and me too.  Wow is he giving me Cobb 2.0 vibes (with upgraded the speed).  So comfortable catching punts; looks like he is going to be a major contributor this year (potential top WR??). just looks comfortable out there from day 1.  So very Cobb like.

Could someone please remind Kenny Clark that he is one of our better DL out there? Was pretty invisible against the Bears.  Maybe the OL was uber focused on him and that led to everyone else getting the pressures, but he didn't look game ready.

Musgrave looks awkward catching deep balls.  Not just against the Bears, but in preseason too.  Hopefully he can fix that soon.

Love looked pretty jittery in the first half, but settled down nicely in the second.  Looked like a whole new QB in the second. Also looked massively better than Fields.

After thinking about Fields' performance (and previous ones), I think I've changed my opinion on him (a bit).  I thought accuracy was his main issue, but he was pretty accurate yesterday (~65%).  I think he is just slow to read and react to tight defenses.  When players are wide open (like at Ohio St), they are easy reads.  I can't think of any throw Fields threw (not made, but threw) that was contested.  Even the interception, the WR had a nice gap, Walker just came from the other direction.  On the positive side for the Packers, I don't see how he is going to overcome that.  You can get better at reading defenses as you see more of them.  But the reaction part of that isn't really going to get better...some QBs have it, some don't.

Coaching - Really nice adjustments at halftime on both offense and defense.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Love looked good. I think its because he actually spent the offseason with his WR's and not smoking ayahuasca. The falcons will have a full week to look at the film, so I'll be interested to see how week 2 goes. You can never get too happy or depressed after week 1. Last few years they got crushed on opening day and had a decent season. The opposite is also true.

Week 1 results might not be indicative of the rest of the season, but you can never be too happy from pounding the Bears! 😂

While not dominate, Clark did have an amazing play sniffing out that screen pass early in the 3rd quarter.  That heads up play right after Wyatt got that monster sack killed any chance by the bears to get some early 2nd half momentum.  Honestly, that Wyatt sack and Clark breaking up the screen where some of the best heads up plays I've seen our DL do in a long time.
