First time I will ever say this.   I’m glad they lost.     What a bunch of trash from the first inning on.    Except for burnes

just pure garbage.     This reminds me of one of those games which starts a  real bad stretch.   But his team has shown resiliency.

That’s like a triple loss. Lose a game, lose a game of the lead, and weaken the bullpen with 14 games in 14 days still to go.

All while throwing 10 innings of no hit ball.

So can we DFA Chafin yet or not?  I know options are kind of limited but he should be break in case of emergency option only and we weren't at that point.

Nope. He has to cost you a playoff spot like Bush did first.

Milner didn’t seem to have it either.

Not sure what to do with that from a pitching standpoint. Fired all the bullets in the magazine. Had 10+ no-hit innings. Needed the offense to do something in regulation innings. Then when the runs did come, there was little left to hold the lead. Almost the entire season in microcosm. Bad loss of a different sort.

That said, I don’t know what goes through Burnes’ mind after some of these recent starts all ending up in team losses. Can’t be good.

Burnes will be happy to be pitching elsewhere next season.

To lose a game is never good, but it happens.  But to lose THIS game in THIS way after by wasting a MAGNIFICENT Corbin Burnes gem is utterly disgraceful. It's a rotten stinking pile of shame.   Every player who had an AB in this game should give CB a month's salary and offer to be an indentured servant to him and his family for seven years.

Oh.... and they might want to learn to hit.

DISGUSTING.

Problem is most of the guys in this lineup are just terrible hitters.

This is the hitting i expect in the playoffs against decent pitching.

If they get there the Brewers will have by far the worst hitting squad.

They’ll be facing some good pitching against the Marlins. Let’s see what the Brewers can do with them. They are the one playoff contender that compares to the Brewers, but their ballpark is a factor in that.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Yeah, can we blame bad hitting on bad hitters?  I mean, they are what they are...

Expecting guys like Turang and Wiemer to suddenly hit is foolish. Really other than Contreras who is a really good hitter for a catcher what other hitter in this lineup would other contenders be interested in.

That's it.  We now know for certain, Underachiever is Craig Counsell's son.

I’m ten years older, but you do you.

I can guarantee you teams would be interested in Frelick. Canha was a big part of the Mets lineup last year.

Things that I think (I think)........

I can only imagine what's being said about Chafin in the previous pages. It wasn't a good matchup situation for him, but when you get 2-3 innings past the 9th you often see that nowadays, from both sides. Wilson (on paper) would've been better, but I assume CC was staying away from him. Same with Milner. Just because he worked, CC obviously didn't want to use him, otherwise we would've seen him earlier. As much as the HR sucked Chafin made some nice pitches afterward. He isn't getting DFA'd, thrown off the bus, sold for a bag of balls, or any other cliche.

If anyone wants to vent, vent about Monasterio not being asked to bunt. Now THAT I can sink my teeth into.

I might be compelled to sign Frelick & Wiemer to 7-yr deals after this game. I'm only half-kidding. One leaves the field happy, even though his lip/mouth are a bloody mess, because we put up a goose egg. And the other goes after the ball with the attitude "Hey Joey, I'm catching this ball. I might kill you, and I'm sorry if I do, but I'm catching this ball".

One of those years for Burnes. If we scored a few today off Cole, he'd find a way to somehow give up 3-4. Just maddening.

Oh, and we're fine.

Frelick for sure that's really about it. Canha perhaps but he may be a Brewers hitter now.

This after scoring 8 & 9 in the first two games. You gotta love the internet.

Of course, Cole had nothing to do with todays' outcome.

Canha has been even better as a Brewer so that doesn’t track.

Frelick is a rookie and I like him but he's not great yet though I believe he will be. Absolutely no one is envious of the Brewers having Canha who is the very definition of mediocrity.

I need to understand why Anderson is still here. 13 innings you can't buy a hit and no call. This is why Donaldson needs to be called up. He still can run into a fastball maybe in a big spot. Anderson is just a season ticket holder now.

At least the people disappointed that there were only 6 pages of replies in this post in extra innings of a no hitter should be happier now...

And the guy who literally gave up the game-winning is who everyone wanted to pitch  earlier.

How about we look at the season as a whole and not one or two games.
