This has to be a team record for the most runs in one inning?

Almost, 13 back on July 8, 1990.

Gantner went 3-4 with 5 RBI leading off. Darryl Hamilton (RIP) went 3-5 with 6 RBI. Deer 0-5 with 2 K.

Hamilton and Surhoff were my two favorite players on the Brewers.

They are interviewing Jorge Cantu.  Was he a member of the Marlin World Series team?  They aren't saying.

Played for them in 08-10

Two of my favorites too. Hamilton was just so smooth.

Surhoff going 1-1 over Barry Bonds and (my favorite player as a kid) Will Clark is pretty nuts looking back, but have to imagine both those guys essentially told Milwaukee not to draft them.

Surhoff was a very good player and ended up having pretty great career. Definitely not a bust but yeah not those guys.

I wonder.  Should CC keep Burnes in there to save the bullpen for the rest of this series just in case?

Pitch count is actually a bit high.  I think he goes 5, knowing that they'll be able to take a short tune-up outing Wednesday or Thursday.

Kinda surprised BRef has the signing bonuses from back then but looks like BJ got 150K, Will got 160K, Barry got 125K and Bobby Witt Sr. got the biggest check at 179K.

That is a surprise. Pretty sure Surhoff was player of the year that season? I remember he caught but also played some short. Athletic guy

Exactly. Get him the win. Don't sweat it if he gives up a hit or two.

Frelick is going to hurt himself or someone else one of these days.  That’s at least the third collision he’s been a part of.

I don't think there's really a "just in case" at this point. We're going to need 1 win or 1 Cubs loss in the final 8 games.

I was just thinking this series.

What happened there when the Marlin caught. That pop-up and stepped down into the dugout.  Didn't something similar happen with Santana a few games ago?

It was a catch because he controlled it before going out of play.

Santana did the same thing and the out was called. But because he carried the ball out of play the runners got a base.

On this play the catch was the third out and I don’t think there was anyone on base anyway.

Best thing of the night is seeing Yelich hit the ball with authority.

Last Friday he was swinging like he was 50 years old.
