I actually think they win tonight. Despite the celebration, they didn't sound thrilled with how they'd been playing the past couple days and look eager to get back on the winning train.

A little pressure off helps too, I'm sure.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

On a serious note, I would expect CC to still play to win this game tonight. Players did not sound thrilled with the three game losing streak and I don't think CC wants to coast like we did a bit in 2021. Maybe sit Yelich against the lefty, but otherwise play your usual contingent of righties, let Miley go the full length (he isn't starting in the Wild Card series), and use your "A" relievers if necessary (Devin hasn't pitched in almost 10 days).

Nope…….

The only thing that is odd about that though is he’s been pitching on mostly 5 days rest……..all of them have…….id almost prefer Burnes pitch tonight for 4 or 5 innings and then have him with 5 days rest for Tuesday……ditto for Woody and Freddy.

I think 4 rest days is fine for recovering from a 50-70 pitch start, which is where I think they will be going.

Marlins are 3-7 against the Mets this year. And who knows what the doubleheader will do. I bet they hate having to play that.

9-2 Mets in the 8th. Marlins bumming me out.

When we've scored runs, we draw walks, grind out the ABs, foul off tough pitches w/two strikes, run up the pitch count, etc. I have zero problem with taking a 1st pitch strike, especially when there's no one on base. What DOES bother me is when I have to listen to how "(fill in the blank) is really throwing well tonight against us", and I look at the pitch count & he's at 37 pitches in the 4th inning. I hope to see a reset of the quality of the at-bats starting tonite, even with the lineup turned in.

Also hoping it's the regular turn for Burnes, Woodruff & Peralta starting Thursday, w/a cap on the pitch count. Throw Williams  tonite & Saturday, regardless of the situation.

Anyone else impressed with Richie Palacios? Looks like the birds may have found something there.

I am starting to get concerned that the end of this season is starting to mimic 2021. Timing is so important to hitters. Very few of them hit well after a week off. It can take 2 or 3 games to get your timing and rhythm back. Sometimes that’s a series. I had hoped Craig had learned from that. We’ll see how the lineup looks tomorrow.

Being Div. Champs is an excellent, wholly proper, and well-deserved reward for being faithful and steadfast throughout the ups and downs of a long season.  Other NL Central team were the sexy team for a week or 2 here and there, but the Brewers did all the work all season long.  The hare vs tortoise metaphor is a good one: Steady wins the race.  Nobody deserves more credit than Craig Counsell.  I thought he was too dead-pan to be inspiring; but this is yet another of many times when I was glad to be completely wrong.  CC for the win! whatever the ESPN (et al.) talking heads say or don't say. It would be beautiful karma for the Crew to win it all.

But for now, let's just win tonight's game!

Is the book on the Brewers to throw a first pitch strike because they won’t swing?

We're just setting them up for some first-pitch homers.

The Cardinal pitcher's fast ball has a little jump on it tonight.

I will wait to make fun of them if we beat them in the playoffs.    It kinda looks like we are going to play them now

3 first pitch strikes so far. Last night there were 15 first pitch strikes looking, and 7 additional first pitch strikes. Maybe it’s just the Cardinals

If it's the Chicago team, it will be hard fought series with a lot of feels.
