NL Wild Card Game 1-Diamondbacks (Pfaadt) vs Brewers (Burnes): 10/3/23, 6:08pm

Brutal.  Maybe they come back and win tonight or even the series but it absolutely sucks rooting for a team that has no chance at winning the World Series.  Like most here I watch a large majority of the games throughout the year.  For what?  For them maybe to get past the first round?   For them to look like garbage at home?  For them to come up short like they always do.  This is the same franchise that celebrates losing a World Series because they’ll probably never make another one.  This is just stupid.   But of course I’ll be watching tomorrow like I always do.

What a terrible home playoff opener

No way this team wins the next two games

What a disappointing showing by the Brewers

And I will never understand Winker being on the roster

I hope we sell (trade away a few players) & rebuild this offseason

I’d much rather watch the younger players than see a patchwork team fall apart in the first round of the playoffs

No one should be surprised

Yeah. Things change so, so fast in October.

Win one game. That's it. You win tomorrow, and you know everyone who roots for the DBacks is thinking how they're in deep trouble and should've finished them off and c.

And even if we somehow miraculously win this game, tomorrow is as important. I know everyone says Game 1 is the most important, but, you know what? I think Games 1 and 2 are the same important. And if there's a Game 3, that's the most important ;)

When you have this starting pitching advantage on paper and know you will be facing Gallen and Kelly you have to win this game.

Every time we lose, there is so much doom and gloom on this chat message discussion board forum. It's two out of three.

Their “best” pitcher got lit up and they stranded a small city.  Did you expect something different?

I feel like I’m a fairly optimistic fan and yet I’m completely unsurprised by this result.

This is a playoff game not some random game in May.

There is no pain quite like Brewers baseball pain

Fans should think that, sure.

But if the players are going in afraid of facing good pitchers, this series is over before it starts anyway.

This series is likely over. This was by far our most winnable game. Our closer threw 30+ pitches. We lost with our ace, our other ace is out. This was a game we needed to win.

We are highly likely to lose this series. That is just the statistical reality at this point.

The same doom and gloom, though. Every time.

Our stars let us down tonight.  It's a brand  spanking new day tomorrow.

A home playoff game with your ace on the mound against their rookie with a 5+ ERA … brutal

This was a must win

In case you didn't notice our offense sucks and we faced a bad starting pitcher and still only managed three runs.

True. But a statistical reality requires a large sample. It's not great at predicting the outcome in a single event.

The Brewers will be, probably, something like 60-40 underdogs tomorrow. In a one-game sample, no result is all that much more or less likely.

We will get down early and you will see a real ace pitch tomorrow and finish it off

Turang being allowed to hit…

Bad base running by Adames andYelich

Awful pitching by best pitcher and like our fifth best pitcher this year

Winker batting there….and making the roster even. And being allowed to keep hitting after getting hurt… and not having him hit live MLB putching the last five games.. and and and…and letting this goof play and hit #2 for half the season…. And Hiura

ESPN analytics had us favored by well over 60% today.  Baseball is weird, especially, it seems, in Milwaukee.

Regular season success just isn't enough anymore since we've had no playoff success at all since 2018. No wonder why Counsell is probably chomping at the bit to get out of town.

F the luck of that Longoria catch.  game changing play there.

I think I've said it before, but I think whatever team hands Burns his 250+ mil deal is going to regret it.  He's good but not true top top Cy Young level like the guys who have actually lived up to those type of contracts like Max, Cole, etc.
