Netflix will air the Christmas games for the next 3-years.  The teams local viewers will still be able to watch the games but anyone out of market will have to watch on Netflix or NFL+ on mobile app.

So for example if you live in Minnesota or the UP you won’t be able to watch that game unless you have Netflix.

I wonder how long the NFL will keep the local cities get to watch these games without a subscription to one of the streaming services.  At some point they will reverse this and probably when the boomer generation is no longer a viable revenue stream.

They can't get rid of it if they want to keep their antitrust exemption.

This wouldn’t breach the antitrust exemption I believe.  Though if enough noise is made it could be threatened to be removed and if I were a team like the Cowboys I would welcome the removal.  As it would then allow a team like the Cowboys to negotiate a TV deal for themselves.

Aaron Rodgers to Skip All of Jets Minicamp for Odd Reason, per Report.

Aaron Rodgers was nowhere to be found his 1st day of mandatory minicamp, an “unexcused absence” which, as coach Robert Saleh said on Tuesday, subjects him to a fine. His reason, "He has something to do near and dear to his heart."

I don't think there's a shot the NFL goes for that. One of the driving forces behind the NFL's success has been NOT allowing the likes of Dallas, New York, etc...the largest markets to negotiate their own TV deals.

I'm pretty certain it'd require the owners voting to approve something like that and there's no shot you'd get approval for that(especially given Jones BS around the stadium and lying about the luxury seats and then coming back with his hand out and needing a loan when they went over budget, but really any owner).

Vikings WR Jordan Addison arrested for DUI, because what better way to get around than driving drunk when you're a professional athlete with every possible means and resource of safe transportation.

Pretty sure he also got pulled over his rookie year around training camp for driving 140 in a 55 in the middle of the night, and his reasoning being something to do with his dog back at his place....so he seems to be rolling the dice on other people's lives/his life/NFL career often.

Yeah...but kids make mistakes. It's not like you watched a 1st rd pick JUST prior to you coming into the league absolutely set his career...-and far more importantly, and innocent woman on fire by driving like an entitled *******.

I would go 8 game suspension at this point. 140 in a 55(I actually thought 35, but my memory is probably bad) and now he's drinking and driving and not just drinking and driving...which is obviously inadvisable, even if you are at the legal limit, bur rather, getting black out drunk and driving.

Speaking as a former selfish ******* who sped(a lot) while driving...and who drove him one time too many, you either get lucky and grow up, or something...just horrible happens to wake you up. For me, it was a beautiful young woman I knew who was hit by a drunk driver over spring break and died. Just left at the semester, and never saw her again. Not a GF, but...someone I was close with and had her whole life in front of her.

I try not to get up on the soap box too much here with righteous indignation, but I feel this is warranted. While this has nothing to do with Wisconsin, WE need to make the penalties for DUIs far more severe, particularly after the 1st, and the NFL needs to do the same.

The NFL needs to do likewise.

We've had 4 NFL players...that I know of, kill people while under the influence.

Dante Stallworth, Leonard Little, Josh Brent and Ruggs.
-Stallwaorth I think was a bit of an outlier and some discrction was used in his case.
-Little...seemingly just glossed right over the fact that he killed someone with a .19 BAC and then received another. Dick Vermeil upon hearing about the DUI said he'd have "no problem," playing him...and then Mike Martz later effectively said they'd deal with the issue "in house," which is code for...he's good.

After a Clay Matthews-esque career(production-wise) he still seems to have somehow scathed by largely unscathed.
Josh Brent-I don't even know much about this other than he killed a teammate drunk, was later arrested and fought with police...I vaguely remember it turning into some "feel good" story when the Mother of the teammate forgave him and he returned to play for one game a couple of years later...but if it was Tyron Smith, I suspect his career wouldn't have suffered nearly as much.

So when's the next deadly crash? Is the NFL just going to sit back while guys drive 150 playing real-life GTA or maybe they'll do something about it so that they can address it without having to hear the screams of an innocent 23-year-old burning to death to actually bring the case to the public forefront and and really, even then, just let the legal system handle it.

Wow...J Love with a nice contract extension. 36M?

Julian Love...he's earned it. I have some words for Matt Schneidman that wouldn't get past the filter here for simply tweeting "J Love has a deal," but I get it...engagement is important.

The HOF game should never be played it is a waste of time.  Either the NFL needs to move this out about a week or two or just not play it at all.

The players are not ready to play yet and no one good ever plays in it.  It is like watching the practice squads play against each other.

This new kickoff format is going to take some getting used to. I don't know what to think of this.

I think it would be better if the kicker has to punt it versus kicking off of a tee.

In my lifetime I can’t think of any change in NFL rules like this. It’s like a whole new play and formation. Whether there is a huge impact remains to be seen,I would have scrapped kickoffs and just had teams start from the 25 but this has potential to be interesting.

Nice!  @nate82 quoted as saying the Bears aren't any good! 😂

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I have a feeling that we will see many creative responses to this new rule.  People doing things that the NFL never envisioned (thus either prompting many new rules or a reversion back).  Seems like everyone is being very secretive about how they handle kickoff practice. They will play vanilla in the preseason and then the curveballs will come out in the regular season.

It absolutely would. I hadn't thought of that, but you know you'll just see a squib kick. But if you have to punt it...that'd add a whole different element and you'd actually get the desired result.

It's a massive difference. Not hard to see this having a big impact on games. Bobbling or muffing a kick could EASILY result in a turnover.

I do get why teams like GB wanted a year of this in the pre-season first, but, they're going right to it.

Judges throws out the 4.7B settlement filed by customers from that would have ended up closer to 14B and would have had a MASSIVE impact on the cap as Covid did for teams according to some, some have said it wouldn't impact the cap(not sure how that works if each team loses 500M)...

Preseason but still impressive.

Yes. The natural talent is undeniable.

If I were to nitpick...it's the pocket presence. He didn't need to spin out of there. The blocking was fine. Set his feet, shuffle to the left, and you have a good platform to throw off of(which he doesn't need, but helps).

That's a lot easier to teach or develop than the ability to make that throw though.

I've been pretty sure for about a year now the Bears would...really struggle to screw up the QB position in the Williams draft. I didn't know Daniels would be as good as he is(he's impressive also).

But Chicago has a dude with elite physical skills. Should make for one helluva rivalry moving forward. An actual rivalry again. Not like the eras of dominance like...the modern era, the 70s and 80s for the Bears, 60s for GB,...etc...
