At least no phone books or salad tongs were harmed.

Or Jeff Kent breaking his wrist while washing his truck.

Obviously, concussions are serious and I hope he's ok regardless of how it happened but I always look a little side-eyed when these weird injuries pop up.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

I'll throw out a conspiracy theory... He's recovering from food poisoning, but didn't get a concussion. They wanted an extra pitcher w/o IL-ing him for the full 15 days.

Just make sure he gets his own pillow to sleep on so his neck doesn't get hurt while the concussion is healing!

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Actually, wasn't he trying to avoid the suitcase that was flying towards him?

McCalvy said he fainted in a Spectrum store, which is just ripe for fun speculation.

I'm positively aghast at prices for cable and Internet these days too, but I thought he'd be made of sterner stuff.

Same thing actually happened to my father in law last summer.

I had a common cold once around 10 years ago and experienced a fit of coughing where I got light headed and passed out. No concussion, maybe because I was seated instead of standing, but I got a small carpet burn on my forehead from falling face first to the floor.

Actually happened to me once.  Back in January 2021, I was at work.  My stomach was getting upset and I headed for the bathroom.

I passed a corner and everything went black.  I crashed to the floor and landed on my chin.  All the engineering guys ran over to help.  Shortly afterwards the fire dept showed up which was embarrassing.  One guy handed me a bottle of water and my head cleared pretty quickly.  I was probably dehydrated to start with.  I wound up getting smacked with covid shortly after.

Questions are a burden.   And answers a prison for one's self.
