Bevy of Moves... Wiemer up... Koenig up... Monasterio down... Bukauskas to IL

I completely disagree with bringing Wiemer up, even if for a short time.

Seems Brewer Hicklen would have been the wiser move.  Wiemer just isn't doing anything that says he should get another shot so soon after attempting to change his swing.  Let him figure things out before moving him up.

Isnt this why we have Roller? Wiemer needs timebto figure stuff out. Also fetting rid of a utility guy and bringing up an OF. Me thinks Frelick 3B?

Mitchell to 60-day IL also sucks. Just cant stay healthy

Rotten luck for JB. Excited to see Koenig though.

Roller was injured Thursday. Likely minor (not placed on IL), but probably not quite ready to play.

It was known Mitchell wasn't going to be back until around June 1, he was going to be transferred to the 60 day as soon as they needed the 40 man spot. Got rid of Monasterio because he is hardly playing and Yelich is currently not available, don't see this adding more time for Frelick at 3B with Dunn playing the way he has.

Hicklen is not on the 40 man

Oh I see. Well that explains it. Still, Util for OF

Too bad for Andruw ... but the numbers game just didn't work in his favor. Dunn and Ortiz are must plays right now ... just no at bats for him. The minute the Brewers needed another position player, he was the likely demotion unfortunately. Hopefully this isn't forecasting a Yelich announcement later today.

Also, If I know the Brewers like I think I know the Brewers, Koenig will be pitching by the 7th inning today.

Owen Miller is hitting well at AAA. Not even sure Monasterio would be the first to return if we need another infielder.  The last two years Miller has been really good in the Spring. Terrible after that. May as well take advantage of his typical hot start if they need someone.

When I was pondering move(s) if Yelich went on the IL, I thought Miller might be a darkhorse candidate. From a pure baseball standpoint it should've been Hicklin over Wiemer, but with the 40-man factoring in, pure baseball sometimes has nothing to do with it. Wiemer is the better defender so there's that.

I just don't like the idea of him transforming his swing/setup at the plate & now all of a sudden not playing every day. Are we going to be facing some LHP in the upcoming homestand?

So they couldn't make a move to get him there in time for today's game, or the SD series at the very least?

So now, instead, we get to watch Wiemer flail around and look hopeless against the one guy (Burnes) I want to beat almost as much as Counsell?

*sigh*

I agree with everything you wrote about Wiemer … now - watch him break out & become the Brewers team MVP in 2024 💪

I would welcome that!  Hell, I hope he makes me eat my words and goes yard today!

Unless Murph knows that Weimer holds special Burnes kryptonite...

They could have gotten him there but then they would have to DFA another guy to do it....

I agree that Wiemer move is a mistake, but I would have brought up Owen Miller, not Hicklen.  Bauers has started 90 big league games in LF and Miller has played there a few times too.  Either fill a spot in the order better than Wiemer.
