I mentioned in the minor league game thread last night that Gutierrez was so bad that if the Brewers needed a 40 man spot they didn’t have to look past him………lol

Wow, you were not kidding, rough night for Gutierrez. Looks like they may have found something in Koenig, have not seen the last of him. Would be awsome if Myers earned his first win today.

Myers is 25 (RHP). He has really bounced around the minors in his careeer. He was a 6th round draft choice of the Orioles in 2016. Traded to the Rays in 2017. Got to AAA with Tampa and in 2021 trade to the Guardians. Started the 2022 season in the minors with the Guardians and was pretty bad and DFA'd. Giants traded for him in July and then DFA'd him in late July. In August the CWS got him off waivers. They waived him at the end of the 2022 season. In Nov of 2022 he signed a minor lg. contract with Milwaukee. In 2023 with Biloxi he was 10-5 with a 5.03 ERA. Allowed 30 HRs along with 168 K's in 138 IPs... 2024 in Nashville, 14.2 IPs - 19 K's - 1.84 ERA.

Myers has good stuff, lots of spin if I remember but it would seem needs to hone the accuracy to get ahead of batters.

Optioned back right away thanks to Wilson and Hudson saving the pen.  Presumably the corresponding will be to activate Megill.

I saw he was up to 97-98 in short stints...and they're hoping he can carry that over into longer outings. Even at 93-96, more the Freddy range, he could be REALLY effective depth with the potential to come in and give you some quality starts.

The Packers just KEEP finding these guys. Can't wait for Woessner who I'm excited about and I can wait for Mis to just...settle in, relax and stop getting people screaming for his callup. Kids already ahead of schedule, let him develop and work on his stuff, not just doing the stuff that can get MiLB Hitters out.

Guttierez was traded to the Red Sox for cash. Hard to beleive anyone wanted him enough to trade for him.

Yeah...they're so good at finding QBs, they're helping the Brewers find pitching.
