Has it been revealed anywhere what was said between Siri and Uribe last night?  That was a little bizarre.

Uribe didn't say much about the content.  Not optimistic Jomboy will be able to deduce it given it was certainly in Spanish.

It was in the brewers.com article: Siri asked him why he bumped him, and Abner said "because I felt like it." So basically just young kid being stupid.

I missed it. What was the problem with the glove?

Who knows, he had the glove last night and had no issue

Learn something new every day. But doesn't the first-base umpire watch the base and listen for the ball in the glove? What's the technique there?

When I was umping (mostly youth baseball, U-14, U-16, etc.), I always found it pretty simple to line up your angle and get a view of the ball and the foot. It was a little trickier from the runner-on-first, behind-the-mound position, but still pretty easy. I also think the usual default call is out. Past a certain point, your eye has no idea anyway, and the sound never much helped me.

I am thrilled to be 19-11. Seriously, this start has been way more than I expected. It's 30 games, but I would have jumped at that record if you'd offered it to me in February. That it's been achieved even with all the injuries and the thin pitching staff is incredible.

Yep.   I’m not going to get too excited because I still can’t believe we can win with this staff.  But who knows

I mean that's what Siri said, so big time grain of salt there.

With Rea going 6 IP today, Brewers starters are at 147.1 IP over 30 GS for an average of 4.91 IP/GS.

Our main competition for the NL Central so far, the Cubs are at 145.2 IP over 30 GS for an average of 4.86 IP/GS.

The Dodgers, they of the $314M payroll, are at 154.1 IP over 32 GS for an average of 4.82 IP/GS.

The Brewers are by no means on an island among competitive NL clubs with their starting pitcher usage.

Yea pretty much.  Tough to see how its sustainable with the staff and the offense starting to resort back to the blahness of the last few years.    but some benefit of the doubt has to be given with what they've done with pitching over the last several years.  And if Hoskins is solid, Adames is better than last two years, and Turang continues being solid (All star level probably not sustainable) it does improve the O from previous years.

May is an easier schedule on paper, so if you ca keep it going another few weeks and get an above .500 month next thing you know you're 1/3 of the way through and it will be tough not to at least be in the playoff chase at the end. Which is really all we could hope for going into the year.

To answer your question: You can’t have anything white on your arm and/glove. At least not in a big enough fashion it could confuse and/or hide the baseball.

while his glove wasn’t technically white, it was much too close to white.

You're right, I skimmed over that the first time I read it, but that's his version. That said, he's probably editing it down if anything, it sounds like Uribe acknowledged he ran his mouth a little. It's still not clear to me exactly what his problem was.

Sadly, I feel like most people here these days won't get the reference, but I sure appreciate it!

This is a great stat. Nice work.

At the MLB level it goes something like:

Make whatever call you think might be right. If it's challenged, just let it fall in the hands of someone 1200 miles away. And if someone in the stands fifteen feet behind the aggrieved manager yells at you, throw the manager out. If none of that works, lean on your union.

Agree with those who say it's time for Uribe to go straighten out at AAA. His suspension means you can't replace him, so he's put his team in a little bit of a bind. Growing up......we've all had to do it.

I was half listening so I don't know who said it but someone during the telecast made a Joey Votto comparison to Black. He obviously isn't as power-driven (at least right now) & his speed is at a totally different level than Votto, but the way he conducts his ABs looks very similar to me. He's K'd once so far, and that was a result of falling behind 0-2 on two borderline strikes. So far so good with the bat, just hope the glove can be adequate.

All things considered we go into the weekend w/the bullpen in OK shape.

Those people will need to learn quick or coach Cooper will make them run laps for not knowing the unwritten rules of the forum.

Saw Chafin is pitching well this year so far. Does not compute. ;)

He's pitched well pretty-much every year.  Except last year.  Particularly at the end.
