Come on, Joe. Don't let Mervis get you.

Ross! Pitching well. Saw him shut the Cubs down for 5 innings in Arizona, if he decides to be a Cub-killer, that would be great.

Why is he hitting leadoff?

Because he was hitting .328 in mid April and I think Murphy knows everyone on the team will be in a slump at some point during the season.

Maybe when he gets hot again he can return to batting leadoff ... while slumping, put someone else there

I agree with that, you get better pitches to hit also at the end of the line up to snap him out of it maybe.

Seems like the Brewers average about 0.2 runs per game playing at Wrigley Field with the wind blowing in.

Wesneski is taking on the role usually played by Hendricks.

Who would have thought playing these guys in the lineup would struggle to score.

enough of these busters.  Play better players

I'm one of those who is constantly harping on just this fact. Spit seeds and play the best players is job description for managing. Unfortunately they often get in the way because they try to do cute stuff like putting Bauers in the outfield.

It seems like the Brewers - over the last few years - waste more good pitching performances than most teams ... lots of 1-0 & 2-1 type losses

I was hoping that we might actually get a homer & win a close game

I know there are two innings left, but I have no reason to believe we will score today

Nice to get 6 strong from Ross here to start the series. Frelick has me concerned. It’s still early but he just isn’t providing any sort of pop or the on base ability I thought he’d have.

I agree and what a stupid play by the Cubs to help the Brewers out.  Maybe thats our spark to score a few runs. I also dont think anyone plays everyday execpt Adamas, Turang and maybe Conrtaris.

Agreed. He's not looking so good early on. Is he fully healthy?!
