Frelick cost us 2 runs+. Great play by Ortiz on the last one, I'm not mad at that error. Colin getting screwed.

That wasn’t an error by Ortiz…….

Team really needs a win.

They were going to come back to Earth on the road. Hope they pick it up at home, but the offense really has to be better. Just so many quiet innings in contrast to early in the year, where it was a lot of pressure on opposing pitchers.

The throw to first that was just wide wasn't called a throwing error? I though it was. Genuinely asking

Still early in his career but Frelick has been a disappointment so far…..IMO

Frelick and Wiemer, and I suppose you can throw Mitchell in there as well since he can't stay healthy...

Remember when Christian Yelich played baseball for the Brewers? I miss those days. Sigh. I really miss the version of Yelich we had before 'the back' flared up again. More sighs.

It wasn't an error but it was half a play.

An accurate throw and the innings over with one run.

I see Hoby struck out the great Michael Massey who last night Murphy had to get Koenig to face. Now Hoby gets multiple innings when we are losing. Meanwhile I guess we see Koenig when we have a lead sometime. Poor management loses games.

No…..whenever you have to dive to make the play well behind the bag… and then hurry a throw like that against the fastest guy in baseball they are never going to rule that an error.

What is Ortiz swinging at? Adames last inning too. Geez.

Definitely in one of those frustrating stretches. Have faced good pitching, which is part of it, some bad luck on hard-hit balls, but also just too many mistakes and poor ABs.

This team just has a lot of little issues that are starting to get exposed.

The bullpen is consistently overworked, asked to carry the load for a rotation that is 80% question marks.

Yelich can't stay healthy, and without him, this offense just can't do enough consistently. Contreras can't do it all himself.

The defense is supposed to be their strength, but it's already cost them a couple games.

I don't want to think that April was just completely smoke and mirrors, but I don't feel great about their chances to contend over the long haul this year.

Realistically you have to hope they can hang around long enough for some younger guys to maybe break out. Chourio/Black…maybe Turang or Frelick actually breaks out for an extended time.

The offense is what it is though. A ton of young guys with a lot of struggle to go around.

There are going to be stretches like this in a long season with the youth and injuries that we have.

unless the Cubs continue to pitch like they have the best staff in baseball I think the central will be decided late in the season.

My fear at this point is that the minor league system was massively overrated.  That is going to set the franchise back quite a bit.  Obviously time for that to change but it hasn't been good to this point.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

All you have to know is these prospects keep getting pinch hit for with minor league free agents.

Pulling Lugo is curious, after the Connor and Ozzie special had his pitch count in a position to go 12 innings.

We're not the only one that's a little suspect with the bullpen management

Does Dunn make that play defensively?

I doubt he gets within 3 feet of fielding it

I wouldn’t expect Dunn to make that play. . ….could he have? Sure…..but it also might have gotten by him for a double.

It would have been a great play…….he almost made it……the Frelick Miscue is the one that has to be made.
