Hey!! What the hell? Why isn't the game tonight on Bally Sports? This is nonsense. Evidently, you have to subscribe, belong, to apple, MLB, or something else in order to watch the game. Is this where the Brewers are going with their television in the future? If so, let me say this to you-THIS IS A REALLY, REALLY, GREAT WAY TO PISS OFF ALL OF YOUR BREWER FANS! WHOEVER THOUGHT OF THIS SHOULD BE DEMOTED OR FIRED.   THINK ABOUT THIS: EVEN THOUGH THE BREWERS ARE THE SMALLEST MARKET TEAM IN BASEBALL, DON'T REALLY OWN THEIR OWN STADIUM, BUT THE "PUBLIC" DOES (STATE AND LOCAL COMMUNITY SUBSIDIZATION), THE BREWERS ALWAYS RATE VERY HIGH IN FAN ATTENDANCE.  IF THIS GAME WAS IN MILWAUKEE, I'M SURE THERE'D BE 30,000 FANS THERE.  GIVEN WHAT THE FANS, THE COMMUNITY, AND THE STATE HAVE DONE AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO FOR YOU-ANTANASIO-THIS IS A FINE WAY TO THROW POOP IN THEIR FACE AND SAY THANKS  SUCKERS.   IF YOU OWNED THE COMPLETE TEAM MEANING THE PAYROLL AND THE STADIUM I COULD UNDERSTAND MAKING PEOPLE PAY TO WATCH GAMES-BUT YOU DON'T!!!! EXCUSE ME BUT FORCING FANS TO SUBSCRIBE TO SOMETHING AND HAVE TO PAY TO WATCH AWAY GAMES IS *********-REALLY!!! IF THIS IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO MAKE MONEY, SELL THE DAMN TEAM TO SOMEONE WHO CAN AFFORD TO DO OTHERWISE.  THE CUBS BY THE WAY HAVE, FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER, OFFERED FANS THE OPPORTUNITY TO WATCH GAMES FREE ON TV.   GREG

MLB controls the Apple TV+ rights so you will have to complain to Manfred on this one.  The Brewers have no control over this but they did get some money from the agreement with MLB and Apple.

There are very few teams that actually own their own stadium.  Actually I think you can probably count all of them on one hand and still have a finger or two left.

Becoming more common in all sports, and most streaming broadcasts have been very good.  The Brewers broadcast tonight has been excellent, although the announcers are so so.  If you’re against it, you’re probably actually in the minority.  The ratings for these games in other sports have been very high, and would expect MLB games to probably follow suit.

A two month subscription cost me all of $0.00.  And I was getting other offers like elsewhere.

Lots of things are too expensive these days, but entertainment through a screen isn't one of them.

MLB is not the same as other sports. I can be perfectly happy watching an NFL game for whatever teams on Amazon prime. For baseball, I only want to watch the Brewers. I would think this is quite common. Adding a stupid paywall is not a good idea for the long term health of the game. I also generally find this practice by Apple to be quite predatory. Hoping the old people that actually want to watch all the games will subscribe to their mediocre product and forget to unsubscribe after the game they want to watch is over. Quite the business model.

Mrs. Samurai and I were surprised when it was on Apple TV.  Fortunately, our daughter has a subscription, so we piggybacked on that.

Oh... how we yearn for the days past where channel 18 would only show away games if we were lucky.  At least it was free, right?

God forbid we listen to the radio.

I've always felt baseball is a radio sport. It's summer. There's daylight until 9pm. I like to go outside and enjoy the world while listening to the game. I like watching the occasional game on Fox because it's a change of pace but even when I had cable I rarely watched them.

I pay for MLB.tv. I pay for Bally streaming. Yet I had to wait until today to watch last night's game. I don't get upset about the games on Fox because I can still watch that for free without giving up my CC info. I'm tempted to just cancel the subscriptions at the end of the year and start pirating the games.

EA Sports...It's in the game...until we arbitrarily decide to shut off the server.

Can you help me out? I’m dumping direct for Hulu+. Just signed up for Bally streaming. It’s on my phone, how do I get it to my tv? It says it is available through Apple+, but I don’t see it.

We have a Samsung Smart TV and there is an "app" as part of their Operating System.  The same thing with our Roku devices.

If you don't have a smart TV, you would probably have to purchase a Roku, Amazon Fire, or Apple TV player.

I pirate the games and 90% of the time I can find the Brewers feed. I don't really mind having the other guys most of the time (except for the Cubs).

I admit that I hate that you can get a full year subscription and then still have certain games blacked out.  Obvious way to get people to try out Apple TV. But Tmobile subscribers get it for free (and MLB.TV), so I suppose I can't complain too much...

But that annoying voice of that one announcer... ooof that was hard to listen to.

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

On the broader topic of MLB splitting their streaming rights all over the place --- I agree with Ghostbear. Now obviously, smarter people than me made the decision, but it's really hard for me to believe that doing this is better for their product. Is the idea that because some dude in Mississippi has AppleTV+ he's going to choose to tune in and watch a random baseball game every Friday, and MLB is trying to expand it's audience? That's hard for me to believe.

Instead, this feels like a short-term money grab by MLB. Apple gives them a bunch of money in the hopes of gaining more subscribers.

Sports franchises have been abusing their golden gooses (fans) for a long time because they have us addicted. I guess it's our own fault for going back for more. Instead of Golden Eggs, we're making them Golden fois gras.

Ummm, that is a false statement.  I highly doubt he is in the minority.  I know a LOT of people, regular watchers, that are not happy with the 7 games that won't be on Bally this season.

My guess is it's the opposite way around.

Most people probably don't care because it's incredibly easy to get a free Apple TV trial to watch the game. There's some people here who feel everything is worth complaining about that make up a vocal minority because most people just don't care enough to even mention it.

Well, I know in my case, I'm not going to the trouble of taking out a free trial if I then have to cancel it at a later date.  I just listen on the radio for the games that aren't on Bally's.

Again, I know there are a lot of people that hate having to go through the hassle of watching on another platform.

A season has 162 games, I'm not getting bent out of shape if seven on them are streamed and I cannot watch.

I still remember back in the mid-2000s when only like 140 games were actually on TV.  Me and my buddies hated that!  We have apple, but it is kind of annoying how there are so many streaming services taking games for the major sports.  Needed Peacock for some Badger games, apple for Brewers, Netflix for NFL, etc.

Didn't the Suns owner just come out and decide that he was going to have every game available to be watching in the area?  I feel like I remember seeing that.

It seems like the franchise's golden goose is whoever is going to be ponying up the cash.  College Football is a great example.

I'm not sure the Oakland A's would look at their fans as a golden goose.  😢
