Nola is more prone to some big innings than the average ace. But doesn't look like they'll be coming today.

He looks really sharp here early. Just all over the edges.

I think it's something like 60 games - it came up in the course of the story of them forcing their way back into the lineup. They're definitely within 10 games or so, so I expect them to break the record shortly if it hasn't already happened.

I brought it up because they have talked about it, and put up a graphic about it every game in this series.

My point is, that is such an obscure, random, and relatively meaningless thing that I doubt anyone really cares about it.

Baseball has a lot of obscure random cherry picked stats.  I would say the only thing that compares is when people try to defend their guy as the nba greatest of all time

There is some serious mental gymnastics going on there

With all the close plays at first, the slow rollers that resulted in an out for MKE and an infield single for them, the hbp that kept a run from scoring last night, the Sanchez liner just now, this has been such a frustrating series. I have had a lot of bad word outbursts.

I might move Turang out of the leadoff spot. Hasn't been quite the same player, especially baserunning-wise.

Ortiz should probably be moved there and then you can go Ortiz-Yelich-Contreras or even Ortiz-Contreras-Yelich.

I agree with this.

Seems the move to lead-off has gotten in his head a bit.  Maybe not, but I think his issues started at the time he was moved to that position.

Come on, man. Get a clean inning. Or at least one without a walk.

You're seriously going to fault Ashby for that walk?

Will quote myself to say, well done, Ashby.

He's hit well in the leadoff spot, but I've been thinking the same regarding moving him down because he's been so much less aggressive on the basepaths. Move Ortiz to lead off who really isn't a big SB guy and let Turang get back to stealing bases a ton.

Contreras is in a major slump, man.

He looks tired to me, he doesn't hustle like he did early in the season.

Coming into today he was slashing .200/.250/.307 in 80 PA since the start of the Astros series.

You'd like to see Yelich punish that pitch a bit more. Cutter right down the middle.

Yeah need to take advantage of mistakes Nola makes. That pitch should have been crushed.

You're never going to score many runs against Wheeler Sanchez and Nola but two runs in 24 innings is low for even that.
