Wheels coming off before the break. We have seen it before and bounced back not really worried. Just tuned in why is Yelich out? I saw he was hbp in box last night…

Might piss this division lead away before August if they keep this up.  A 5 run lead at home against the Nats and you can't hold it? Embarrassing.

Truly a gutless and pathetic loss.

Let's just hope they simply started the AllStar break early. Again.

A dismal performance at the plate. 5 runs, then a nap. We don't have the pitching for that.  And where was Yelich?

This has been a very disappointing stretch against mostly mediocre teams...of which we now seem to be one. Bughghghgh!

3-6 in against the rockies, pirates and nats.  Just a "little funk" though.

I know this can't be right, but...

It's like "yay, we have 5-run lead! Of course we'll win". Sadly, the other team kept playing with the intensity we seem to have lost.

Who's kicking some rear end in the clubhouse?!

So, 2-7 in their last nine games. Finally a stretch of not playing well AND losing games on a consistent basis--something that's bit every other team in the division this year. Our turn, finally. Would've been nice to avoid it.

Can't comment on much of the game as I missed the entire mid-section of it. One thing I saw was Blake Perkins swinging at a 3-1 pitch leading off the bottom of the ninth. He took a lot of heat & rightfully so for his popped up bunt a few weeks ago, his decision to swing there was almost as bad. I also saw his K in (I think) the 3rd inning w/runners on 2nd & 3rd and one out after getting ahead 2-1. From the limited amount of the game I saw those are some pretty hefty goat horns.

Other than that, like I said it sucks but it's our turn. In past years when we've been in 1st place in May-June-July I've told people that there's a good chance we get challenged at some point, and we usually do. But what's more important is how you respond. What happens post-break is worth a million times more than what happened today, or this past week. In baseball that's the only attitude to have if you want to survive a season.

8.1IP by the Nats bullpen and the Crew not only didn't score but produced just 3 hits?  These games are at home right?  That's b2b games of snooze fest after 1 inning scoring. That's been the difference. Late inning comebacks and shutdown relief to the opposite. Blown saves and no offense once through 4th inning.

You have to laugh at the media calling for this mediocre team to go all in. All in for what; to possibly win another playoff game or two because this is nowhere close to being a championship team.

Actually 2 hits in the last 8 innings but who’s counting .

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.
