Really glad this team isn't playing in Wrigley after today.

And since the umpire has a wide zone, Wilson better exploit it.

Are you seriously not going to challenge that?

I don't believe obstruction is challengeable...still an awful call by the 2nd base umpire

they said on the broadcast you can't challenge obstruction.

If you can challenge that at home plate, that can challenge that at second base.

Garbage inning. Bad umps, and the Brewers doing nothing with 13 walks in the series is just awful. Been a tough group of games to watch.

Their solid barrel percentage recently has been total garbage.  Not sure why they can't square it up more often.  Perhaps they are focusing more on generating their own power instead of going with the pitch?

This has the feel of one where you just need Wilson to keep you in it and have the offense do just enough to come back and steal a W late.

your argument is with Jeff Levering and his crew then, not me. I'm just repeating what was said man.

It wasn't necessarily directed at you. It just makes no sense to me how that's not challengeable when it is at home plate.

When you’re scoring one run a game you can’t afford to be giving one right back. But my post came after the opener put 2 men on to start the second

They got away with trying to squeeze another few hitters out of the “starter” after he threw so many pitches in the first. Wilson got out of it, but I don’t think it’s ideal to have the guy you’re counting on to throw 4-6 innings have to come right in to a high leverage situation.

I’m not a fan of the opener strategy in the first place, and in my book today was a fail.

Methinks your expectations may be a tad unrealistic. You simply cannot expect shutouts every time out. Considering the state the the team's pen today, and Wilson's success pitching with an opener versus as a traditional starter this season, the thought process was certainly sound.

Those “Commercial Break in Progress” black and white fillers on the Bally app make long for David Gruber and PB4WEGO.
