Pat Murphy is not good at this.

I'm sure he pulled him because he had 93 pitches. Last thing we need is another arm injury.

Pat Murphy when it comes to putting a RP in leverage spots against RHH whose numbers are the following against RHH - .262/.373/.374, 17% K-rate, 14% BB-rate, 1.62 WHIP.Ice Hockey GIF

Here comes Peguero with runners on. What could go wrong?

Not that I would read into these numbers at all, but he's actually been quite good this season with runners on base, and better than with the bases empty.

Empty: 18% K, 11% BB, 1.4 HR/9, 5.44 FIP, 4.50 xFIP (.293 BABIP)

Men on: 22% K, 12% BB, 0.3 HR/9, 3.25 FIP, 3.82 xFIP (.329 BABIP)

This seems like a pretty silly narrative.

It's not the decision to pull Myers. It's the decision to bring Peguero on in a situation where he has failed all year.

Yupp. If you're pitching path involves Peguero potentially coming in mid 6th inning just let him start the inning.

Part of it is also bringing in Peguero specifically to face a RHP when he struggles against RHP.

ERA/FIP is also misleading here because he's not responsible for the baserunners who do score.

It's not a silly narrative. Peguero has allowed 64% of inherited runners to score this season and has been terrible against RHH this season yet Murphy continues to bring him in to face RHH with runners on base.

Yeah, the righty thing carries a lot more weight with me than LOB%, which is widely known to be extremely fluky from year to year. The splits have been true for Peguero's whole career at least.

ERA would definitely be misleading which is why I didn't show it. FIP would not be misleading because it's only looking at the batters he faced.

FIP doesn't take into account inherited runners same as ERA.

Peguero allows 64% of inherited runners to score.

Peguero is the least inspiring pitcher with a near sub 3 ERA ever.

Because he drives up the ERAs of pitchers he relieves.
