Chourio 797 OPS

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

Civale has been pretty much what we wanted/needed. An important arm, and a good pickup.

Still, I trust him very little and want no part of him on the postseason roster.

He will be on the postseason roster.

I'm a bit concerned about our entire rotation from top to bottom right now. I think they're all showing some signs of season fatigue.  The division lead is so big it would be nice if we could just put it on cruise control this month and rest some guys, but we're trying to catch the Phillies.

We don't have one starter that I feel great about in a playoff series. We'll lean heavily on our pen for sure.

I don't know if you can give Civale a third time through the Cardinals lineup with how the Cardinals have hit him pretty good tonight. That being said, he will get one.

The Brewer Hicklen story was fun for like 10 minutes yesterday, but there's a good chance the guy just can't play at this level.

Yeah looks like a AAAA player. He was one of Nashville's worst hitters against 95+mph pitches. Not good defensively. Doesn't seem like he has much to offer

Skenes may be wearing down, or maybe the Cubs are learning something about him as they face him for the 4th time.

Last week the Cubs made him work to get through 5 innings with 80 some pitches. They only scored 3 runs against Skenes but exploded against the bullpen in the last 3 innings.

Tonight Skenes has managed to get through 3 scoreless innings, but he’s thrown 77 pitches while surrendering 4 hits and 4 walks. I wouldn’t think the Bucs would want him to labor much longer.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

Think he's wearing down. I'm just following on gameday but he's been extremely wild for his standards. A lot of pitches not even close to the strike zone.

Seems like Ashby might be around the corner.
