FWIW, I liked the bunt if Helsley was pitching and you were going to pinch hit for Hoskins. What I hate is the bunt by Ortiz after the walk to set up Turang in that situation. Other than Frelick, there's no one I want up less against a LHP needing a ball in the OF.

Suicide squeeze would have been a good option for Turang imo

As I understand it, it was supposed to shorten the game and keep things lively. It was always for fan service, nothing more.

or you don't bunt in that case, potentially hit into a double play, and the inning probably ends two batters earlier in that sequence with a guy still stranded at 3rd.  Turang doesn't ground to the pitcher in that spot and the Brewers probably win the game.

Seems like it is in fact possible to get the runner home from 2nd when you just play the game and aren't trying ridiculously hard to give away extra outs to get the runner home.

I think that might do it. 

Just one of them nights where getting a hit with the runner in scoring position just is not in the plan.

A little surprised you're not walking Goldy there to set up a potential double play with the platoon advantage.

I guess I get the argument that one run doesn't necessarily beat you, but, even still, that 0-2 pitch was way too nice.

At some point.    A team that needs a run can get a damn guy home from third every once in awhile.    How many extra innings in a row have we played without scoring now

The inning was pretty badly mismanaged by Murphy. I don't know why you're setting up the bunt to get up Turang with a bad matchup as the guy who has to get it done.
