Something tells me one of the top 2 prospects in baseball is going to get a little more leeway to show it than a 28 year old journeyman minor leaguer.

Giving up on someone in 3 games? Rough

And yet still longer than it took the Royals to give up on him, in terms of plate appearances.

Again, he's a journeyman minor leaguer. They're just seeing if they can catch lighting in a bottle. He's not going to get 50 plate appearances to settle in.

Anyone else a little surprised they didn't run Megill back out there and try to save Williams for the 10th?

Not really. Megill to my recollection isn't really a multi-inning guy at all.

If we called him up when he was tearing it up in June it would perhaps warrant more patience.  But after hitting .162 in AAA in August, I'm not seeing the point of putting him in front of MLB pitching in the midst of a prolonged cold slump.  Our options aren't great given it's Perkins' weaker side and Frelick has light splits, but they're still better.

You're right. Looks like he's only pitched more than one inning twice this year. My brain is faulty.

No……they aren’t going to go 2 innings with MeGill

This is probably the one time I would have been ok against the lefty to see if Brewer can run into one and of course they already have Frelick in who has no chance to run into one.
