Game 4: Vikings @ Packers - Sunday, Sept 29th at 12PM

I'm not One to make the Packers Game Threads but I saw this this morning and wanted to ensure it was up top front and center.

In honor of the one hour we had a Josh Jacobs and Aaron Jones backfield, I share the piece Jonesy published in the Players Tribune ahead of Sunday's game. Man, just a class act. Some Packers remain Packers forever. Jones is definitely one of those Packers for me.

Quote

It wasn’t just my teammates who made me feel seen in Green Bay — it was our fans, too. Especially in those first few years when I was trying to make my name in the league, I think people started to notice that good things would happen when I had the ball, and they wanted me to be more involved. So they started tweeting with the hashtag #FREEAARONJONES. I know it’s just a hashtag, but I won’t lie, that was cool. Every time I saw it in my mentions, it reassured me I wasn’t going unnoticed. Our fans understood how hard I was working to make things happen, and I fed off of that.

Just a class act. This being said, have a great rest of your season Jonesy. Sunday, I hope you cough it up.🤭

He's the type of guy that makes me root for him...even if he's a Viking. Love the way he runs too. Very unique style for a RB very long stride.

But I still want to beat them.

FYI, anyone is welcome to make the gameday threads.  I have the last couple weeks for the same reason you did... I had something to start the conversation off with.

And yes, Mr. Jones has always been a class act. He is my biggest worry in the game Sunday.  We did poorly against JT and the Colts.  Jones is very much the same back as JT.  Plus we've seen him torch many teams when healthy.

Of course... just like all the other former Packers become Vikings... we love you until you put the purple on.  Then we love you when you take the purple off.  But it is enemies in between.

It would be funny if Packer fans started tweeting with the hashtag #FREEAARONJONES again. 😂

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

Samkung Gado.

Ah.. I miss Gado.  Flash in the pan as an RB, but a great guy, story, and production when we needed him.

This seems like such a weird comment when you look at the two physically.

One is ~230, elite speed. The other, Jones is smaller, does not have elite speed...but they are similar. They both run hard, Jones runs harder than most backs his size(or than bigger backs) and they are both so patient and have such great vision.

Not to re-litigate it...particularly as Jacobs has been what we've asked him to be, but man, I wish Jones was still here. He was on the end and I wish we'd have at least offered him a couple Million more, the same the Vikings did. That duo out of the backfield, now with Lloyd and Wilson would make a great backfield.

That said, I co-sign the "hope you cough it up this week Aaron." I'd say "I'll always be a fan," but that's not true. I'll be a fan of you 15 games a year!

Call me crazy, but I wouldn’t mind seeing a good chunk of field time for Willis. With Love’s little to no mobility, I think Willis could be a useful weapon depending on the situation.

Jaire sure has a knack for winding up on the injured list for some random non-game injury and missing an important game or string of games.

Yeah, but it’s the NFL, next man up and you adjust. We probably overrate the impact of guys being hurt in the NFL. Of course it had to be against Jefferson.

Packers D has had some luck the last two weeks facing poor QB play. Darnold has seemingly figured it out a bit. I'll be curious to see how they do.

I haven’t watched them yet but I going with the belief he is still not that good. Pass rush has to get to him though, he takes sacks.
