"I never said Williams should’ve have been in. "

Literally your exact words in the first post on page 33.

I definitely meant shouldn’t because of course you put Williams in there. Context would’ve shown that but my bad. Typo

I'm fine if Williams gets traded in the offseason. They've done incredibly well not missing a beat when they've traded top guys like Hader and Burnes. I am not sure if Williams is just a playoff choker but I am honestly fine with not finding out again.

They have enough options in the pen to replace him.

My $0.2: when Peralta is your "ace" and Devin is your best closer.... You need pitching.

At least we have Chourio.

What a rotten ----ing way to end a fun season.

I’m not going to tell you how to fan but how in the **** can you not be devastated by puking up a 2-0 9th inning lead at home in a winner advances game?

After the last 20 years of watching the Packers and the Brewers and even the Badgers gag in the biggest moments of the biggest games I've become kind of numb to it.

Thank you Brewers for a fun season which far exceeded my expectations for the team.

Thank you God for letting me pass out on this side of the Atlantic and not have to watch that collapse live.

Sorry friends - that one hurts like a #*}€~*?*<*

I mean typos happen but it seems silly to blame me for not interpreting it the other way through context when you were literally putting some blame on Murphy for the loss, but I digress. I just honestly think Murphy managed this one about as well as he could have. You cannot just pull the trigger every time a guy gives up a walk and a basehit. Especially not someone with the track record of Devin. He choked and it happened.

They went into the 9th inning having allowed 0 runs and they had arguably the best closer in baseball from the last few years on the mound.

I don't think they could ask the pitching to set them up to win any better than they did tonight.

Williams just can't perform when the lights are brightest.  Move on from him for what we can get and let the young guys play.  Another bite at the apple down the drain.  I know this season wasn't supposed to end in the postseason anyway, but nothing is guaranteed for next year or the year after.  Have to take advantage of the opportunities you are given at some point.  Honestly, right now, I feel like next year may be the year the team takes a step back with Adames leaving and Yelich coming back off surgery.  We'll see.  Right now, this hurts.

He needs to go. His legacy is this game and screwing them over royally by punching a wall. That stain has to go. Guy has always seemed like a bit of a dope. Get what you can for him now.

I realize that he was going to close this game no matter what and any manager would have had him in there, but personally I despise these baseballisms. Just let Peralta finish the game. Have Williams warm if he puts a runner on base.

If it weren't for the Bucks winning it all in 2021 I'd have to give some serious consideration to just walking away from Wisconsin professional sports in the interest of my own mental health. Seriously, these last 15 years have been brutal. Every team is always seemingly on the cusp of something big and no matter what they find some way to let it all come spectacularly burning to the ground.

You can just plug Megill back into the closers role as he proved this year he can succeed there. Hopefully Abner Uribe can get his head on straight and come back from his knee surgery. That would make a good 8th/9th combo.

I didn't sleep a wink after that debacle in Seattle when the Packers blew that NFC championship game. The only thing that probably got me more worked up was when the referees handed Duke the championship game on a platter.

Right, my list of screw ups definitely starts with Williams, then a bunch of hitters, then I had a couple issues with Murphy but after those guys.

Imagine this current pitching staff next season but adding another possible Tobias Myers story in RHP Chad Patrick and likely bullpen high-leverage stalwarts in RHP's Jacob Misiorowski and Chad Yoho.

I believe...

There's so many possibilities as to who will come in and blow the save in an elimination game I really can't decide who it would be.

Add in Wade Miley and Big Woo, we might have something cooking.

Realistic question:

What kind of haul would you expect for Devin Williams?

About what we got for Corbin. I'd prefer really good starting pitching prospects. We already have Megill as a closer.

1 really good prospect and probably 1  good prospect and 1 lottery ticket.

So something like 1 top 50-100 ranked prospect, a teams 10-15 ranked prospect and then someone from the DSL.

I think that is the best case scenario for Williams but probably something just a bit less than what the Brewers got for Burnes.

The Seattle debacle was the biggest gut punch I experienced as a fan. At least being a Michigan fan I got to experience a National Title last year, but they soon will be on their way to mediocrity again. I just hope I can experience a Brewers World Series in my lifetime. I was born after 82 so never got to experience that.
