kind of my thoughts, I'd trust hook and the brewers brain trust over whoever is evaluating pitchers for the white sox.

seems worth the low risk of a rule v pick. he wouldn't be the first guy to figure things out in his mid 20's. Also brewers can see what they can do in the lab. It would be more interesting to see why the cards didn't protect him, since they are very good at developing pitchers as well.

Probably more of a question of who is more likely to help the big league team in 2025. Thomas already has 400+ innings at AAA. A guy they can theoretically use in the Bryce Wilson role.

6'8" lefty with a 25.6% strikeout rate. If the brewers can improve on his 10.9% walk rate, they may have something here.

I realize the ability to shuttle a guy is ever important, but I don't think S Smith was in our top 30 prior ... so in terms of prospects, according to pipeline, we improved.
