Fields to the Jets

So they traded two 2nds, a 1st Rd swap, to endure two consecutive losing seasons while firing everyone in their building to sign Justin Fields as a FA.?

On a lighter note….

Schultz: DL Dayo Odeyingbo to sign with the Bears.

The Bears are giving edge Dayo Odeyingbo a 3-year deal worth $48M — $16M per year — with $32M fully guaranteed, sources say.

It's easy to get lost in this early FA flurry BUT I want to explicitly mention the Jags are very active. They've signed QB Nicks Mullins and TE Johnny Mundt. The Super Bowl march begins.

Do not like the Bears making multiple moves I like.😅

No doubt

Garafolo: Dyami Brown to sign a 1-year, $10M deal with the Jaguars.

I actually still like Dyami Brown. Decent signing, imo.

Bears crushing it

Grady Jarrett, released today by the Falcons, lands in record time on a big deal with the Bears.

I love Grady Jarrett. He's been a really good player for a long time. .He's tailed off considerably over the last several years tho. Perhaps new scenery will reignite his greatness? We shall see.

Loving Da Bears off season so far.  Though I wish they would have signed Sweat then you could say the pass rush would be very Sweaty.  I will see myself out.

Yeah...the Bears have finally figured it out.

Draft a talented QB and then...actually hire offensive minded coaches.

Lions, Bears and Washington are ALL figuring it out. Washington paid a lot for Tunsil...but an elite LT is...pretty valuable and they age better than most positions. Sounds like Tunsil and a 4th for a 3rd+7th this year and a 2nd and 4th next year. So top 5 LT for a 2nd, 3rd, 7th and a swap in the 4th basically.

I think I'd have probably done that...though he'll get a big extension as well.

Danny Dimes to the Colts!

Could we see the full-circle completed with Rodgers to the Vikings? They gotta grab a vet somewhere, right?

Or as Rich Eisen calls it, the Favre Triple Lindy.

Rodgers probably loving that he is slightly more in demand than expected. I think he would rather not move and sign with the Giants but they might take a QB in draft. Vikings already drafted someone and won't just hand Rodgers the job. Steelers would be his best shot at a postseason run.

The thing not talked about much is who would pay him the most money and that may be the holdup now.

I think if the Vikings signed him, it would be as the surefire starter. I don't think there is any way his ego would allow him to sign with a team intending on a QB competition. Plus, McCarthy wasn't exactly a sure-fire future star coming into the draft last year, and is coming off a serious injury that is basically making him a rookie again.

That said, there would be no one standing in his way for a starting job on both the Giants and Steelers. The Steelers are probably a better bet for a playoff run, and have better skill position talent across the board.

Buffering Back To School GIF by Rodney Dangerfield

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."
