You might be on to something. Why didn't he just get that ball that dropped in front of him? I'm 45 and I could have caught that ball if I dove.

Was he told if he wasn't sure if he could catch it to keep it in front of him and not let the ball get behind him?  He is a real problem defensively at CF.

I don't think it was a bad call for a .169 hitter to bunt. It was bad execution.

There’s little to gain from going runner on second with no outs to runner on third with one out

If the runner is on first or on first and second, fine try to move them over and eliminate the double play ball

On third with one out and a deepish fly ball scores a run.

If you would have told me Hoskins and Bauers were hitting like this I would have told you we were in first or at least a contender.    It tells you how bad Yelich Chourio and our left side of the infield is that we suck

Which is not a likely outcome for a Turang AB

Chourio started well and is now struggling but showing signs of life. Turang and Sal have been pretty good.

Chourio needs some time at AAA to get straightened out!

I guess the positive view is that he hit poorly in Mar-May last year and was on fire the rest of the way (and it is almost June!).  Maybe we just give him a vacation each Mar-May?

Tell him to go up there concentrating on hitting to the right side. Do that and you probably have a better chance to move the runner to third with either a ground ball or fly to right. Maybe by concentrating on going to right would improve that .169 average.

The bad execution reveals that he doesn’t have good fundamentals for laying down a sacrifice bunt. That makes it a terrible call in my book.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

He's swinging at too many pitches off the outside of the plate. He can't seem to help himself. So of course now he sees a bunch of them every game.

On the slow motion, his technique looked good. He just missed it unfortunately.

It almost feels like they are TRYING to lose!  Yelich clean up....... Sticking with Durbin and Ortiz.....Payamps the closer................

edit:  Oh, OK Yelich hitting 3rd.  lol

At some point the juice isn’t worth the squeeze with Payamps. He has had stretches where he has been a very good arm for us, but it’s getting less and less consistent. How many games does he have to no-show before that good stretch is no longer worth the roster spot?

We’ll have to agree to disagree on both the strategy and the execution.

On the first pitch, Ortiz made a hopeless stab at the ball and on the second he dropped the head of the bat down, which is most likely going to lead to a pop-up
